The Nica Rustica cigar brand was created as a tribute to Estelí, its people, and the amazing leaf that grows there, all of which Jonathan Drew of Drew Estate has described with the phrase con Orgullo (“with pride”). Meaning “witch doctor,” or to Estelí’s locals, “the shaman”.Rustic-looking as the brand name implies, and featuring a short, curly pigtail and covered foot, is not a pretty cigar…and isn’t supposed to be. Its Connecticut broadleaf wrapper is a rusty brown color with visible veins and a somewhat rough and toothy texture. But don’t let its appearance fool you; under that unassuming wrapper is the perfect everyday/anytime cigar, and what it lacks in beauty, it makes up for in flavor. Medium to full in body and flawlessly constructed for a perfect burn and easy draw, Nica Rustica produces volumes of thick, rich smoke, solid white ash, and a long, luxurious finish.

Make sure you have ample air flow if smoking these indoors! Great medium-full bodied flavour and SO MUCH SMOKE! A great cheaper offering from Drew Estate yet still a good one.

What the NIca Rustica lacks in looks it makes up for in flavor. Rich and full, I like the shorties because it’s still satisfying. Trying to put down brunettes is a little much for me, if I’m smoking something for two ours there’s got to be some foreplay involved, and there’s not much of that with this blend. It smokes like a liga with that crazy amount of smoke pouring off the foot. Fairly ope draw as well. When I’m after that big broadleaf flavor I love but might have to pitch the cigar early, this cigar will suffice.

Poor Man’s Liga Privada T52? Maybe. The Nica Rustica Toro is a nicely balanced (and not complex) full-bodied smoke that is bold. The profile had flavor notes of strong spices, earthy tones and roasted coffee. If you want a Liga Pravada T52 and are on a budget, the Nica Rustica Toro has got you covered.

Just finished my first El Brujito from a fiver ordered about a month ago. Not the prettiest cigar but looks can be deceiving. Nice aroma, consistent taste all the way to the nub and only required a small touch up at a wrapper crack under the label. Paired well with an iced latte with a pleasant finish. Excellent choice for a more budget friendly smoke if you enjoy a med-strong cigar. Will be adding these to the rotation for sure!

Decent smoke but if you have smoked Drew Estates other offerings this may not do it for you.
