Gilberto Oliva Reserva comes wrapped in a dark Indonesian Sumatra wrapper. The wrapper itself normally produces a mellower profile but paired up with an Ecuadorian binder and rich Nicaraguan long-fillers you can expect a zesty medium-bodied cigar with smooth notes of earth, leather, and spice.

I like most stuff from Oliva. Generally everything has been real solid so. I tried this. I was generally underwhelmed by this stick. The draw and burn on it was decent. I got some subtle baking spice, earth and a touch of graham cracker from this. The flavors though were pretty flat and didn’t provide much for transitions. I think I will stay with Olivas more core line. These were a great price and I wanted to like them but just fell flat for me.

The construction was really nice on this. Solid white ash and a good draw. However this cigar tastes like straight cardboard. I mean I’ve had less enjoyable cigars, but this is pretty bland and uneventful. Not terrible for the price, but I don’t think I’d take the time to smoke another.

Good smoke with your morning coffee with the hints of coco and some ceader pairs really nice together. Good even burn from start to finish.
