Detailed Description
The La Flor Dominicana Ligero Natural L-Granu stands as a testament to Dominican cigar-making excellence, combining carefully selected tobaccos with an uncommon wrapper choice that sets it apart from typical offerings. The Ecuadorian Sumatra Seed wrapper, grown in Dominican soil, brings a distinctive spicy character that immediately announces itself upon lighting. This unique leaf creates an intriguing contrast with the smooth Dominican binder and long-filler tobaccos beneath, establishing a complex interplay of flavors that evolves throughout the smoking experience.
From the first draw, expect waves of black pepper spice balanced by creamy undertones that coat the palate. As the cigar develops, earthy notes emerge alongside pronounced oak characteristics that add depth and sophistication to the profile. The large ring gauge format allows these flavors to meld gradually, preventing any single note from overwhelming the palate while maintaining the full-bodied intensity that Ligero tobacco is known for. This generous size also provides excellent value, delivering extended smoking sessions that can stretch well beyond an hour.
Construction quality remains consistently excellent across production, with each cigar demonstrating the meticulous attention to detail that La Flor Dominicana has built their reputation upon. The draw resistance hits the sweet spot between too tight and too loose, while the burn line maintains remarkable evenness without requiring constant attention or touch-ups. This reliability makes the L-Granu an ideal choice for both special occasions and regular rotation, especially given the economical bulk packaging.
While the substantial ring gauge might deter some traditionalists, those who embrace this format are rewarded with a smoking experience that showcases the full potential of Dominican tobacco. The combination of spicy wrapper, creamy binder, and robust filler creates a harmonious blend that satisfies cravings for intensity without sacrificing refinement, making this an essential addition to any serious collection.

Really awesome cigar. I usually don’t reach for big ring gauge stuff but I’ll make exceptions. There was a bold spiciness to this that I can appreciate. Also got some earthiness and oakiness with this as well. LFD knows how to make delicious stuff as most everything I’ve tried from them is on point. Construction with this was perfect. The draw was spot on and great burn that needed no touch ups. Really an unbelievable price on these as well.

I dig that spicy Sumatra wrapper. Not usually a fan of these big rings, but for LFD I’ll make an exception.
