Detailed Description
The 1926 Serie No. 6 Natural stands as a testament to the Padron family’s vertical integration philosophy, overseeing every aspect from seed to box to ensure only the finest tobacco reaches production. Released in 2002 to commemorate Jose Orlando Padron’s 75th birthday, this exceptional line represents the culmination of decades of tobacco cultivation expertise. The No. 6 format, though compact in stature, delivers monumental flavor through its expertly aged tobacco blend that undergoes a minimum of five years aging, with select leaves aged up to a decade before rolling.
Upon lighting, this box-pressed robusto reveals extraordinary complexity that evolves continuously throughout the smoking experience. Opening notes of creamy vanilla bean and honeyed earth create an inviting entry, quickly joined by the signature Padron spice that adds vibrancy without harshness. The core flavor profile centers on rich chocolate and espresso notes, complemented by roasted almonds and subtle citrus undertones that provide brightness. As the cigar progresses, waves of cedar, leather, and a unique almond paste sweetness emerge, coating the palate with a long, oily finish that lingers beautifully between draws.
Construction excellence defines every aspect of the No. 6 Natural, from the flawless box-pressing that maintains shape throughout the smoke to the razor-sharp burn line that requires no correction. The natural wrapper displays a milk chocolate brown coloration with minimal veining and a texture that feels remarkably smooth despite visible tooth. Draw resistance strikes the perfect balance, producing voluminous, creamy smoke that creates an intoxicating room note of chocolate and roasted nuts. The ash holds firm and white, often exceeding an inch before requiring removal, demonstrating the exceptional tobacco quality and expert rolling techniques that define every Padron 1926 Serie cigar.

What makes the Padron 1926 No. 6 Natural exceptional?
The 1926 No. 6 Natural represents the pinnacle of Padron’s tobacco aging expertise, featuring five to ten years of maturation that creates extraordinary smoothness and complexity rarely found even in premium cigars. This compact robusto earned a 96-point rating from Cigar Aficionado and No. 4 Cigar of the Year honors through its perfect balance of chocolate, espresso, vanilla bean, and honeyed earth flavors that evolve continuously throughout the smoking experience.
How does the Natural compare to the Maduro version?
The Natural wrapper provides a more refined, nuanced experience with prominent vanilla bean, honeyed earth, and citrus notes that brighten the profile. While the Maduro delivers darker, more intense chocolate and coffee flavors with increased pepper presence, the Natural showcases subtle sweetness, creamy texture, and exceptional balance. Many aficionados actually prefer the Natural in the 1926 line for its superior complexity and smoother character despite typically favoring maduros in other lines.
Is the 1926 No. 6 suitable for newer smokers?
While the medium-full strength might challenge complete beginners, the exceptional smoothness and balance make the 1926 No. 6 more approachable than its strength suggests. The absence of harshness combined with clear flavor transitions helps developing palates identify distinct notes. Best enjoyed after meals or with appropriate beverage pairings, this cigar rewards careful attention while avoiding the intensity that overwhelms newcomers.
What beverages pair best with the 1926 No. 6 Natural?
This sophisticated robusto pairs beautifully with espresso or Turkish coffee that amplifies its chocolate and roasted nut characteristics. Fine scotch enhances the oak and almond notes, while aged rum complements the natural sweetness. Red wine, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon or Malbec, creates harmonious combinations. For a unique pairing, try ouzo, whose anise notes create intriguing contrast with the cigar’s earthy sweetness.
When is the ideal time to smoke a 1926 No. 6?
The 30-45 minute smoking duration makes the No. 6 perfect for when you desire premium quality without extended time commitment. Ideal for winter months when longer smokes prove challenging, after-dinner indulgence, weekend mornings with coffee, or celebrating achievements. The intensity works best following substantial meals, making it an excellent conclusion to business dinners or special occasions when only the finest will suffice.
How should I store Padron 1926 cigars?
Maintain 65-68% humidity and 68-70°F temperature for optimal preservation. The natural wrapper benefits from stable conditions to preserve its delicate oils and prevent cracking. Allow newly purchased cigars to rest minimum two weeks before smoking to stabilize moisture content. These cigars continue improving with age, developing additional sweetness and complexity over years of proper storage, making them excellent candidates for special occasion cellaring.
What construction qualities distinguish the 1926 Serie?
Each 1926 No. 6 features meticulous box-pressing that maintains perfect shape throughout smoking. The wrapper displays exceptional smoothness despite visible tooth, feeling like brown paper to touch while looking like art. Draw resistance remains ideally calibrated, producing thick, creamy smoke without effort. Burn characteristics stay remarkably even with sharp lines requiring zero correction. Expect solid white ash that holds firmly for extended periods, demonstrating the superior tobacco quality.
How does the No. 6 compare to other 1926 sizes?
The No. 6 offers concentrated flavor intensity that rivals larger formats while requiring less time commitment. Though smaller than the No. 2 or No. 35, it delivers comparable complexity with more immediate flavor impact. The compact size intensifies the tobacco characteristics, creating bold transitions that keep experienced palates engaged. Perfect for those who love the 1926 profile but lack time for the 80th Anniversary or No. 1 formats, though some find the shorter length leaves them wanting more of this exceptional blend.

Rich and Quick, I actually prefer Maduros, but in the 1926 line, this is the better one. Nice for a warm night in the backyard smoke.

The Padron 1926 Anniversary No. 6 is one of my favorite Natural cigars. Perfect construction, a bit smaller in size, but is a giant in terms of character and performance! Creamy texture, with rich smoke; notes of vanilla bean, espresso, honeyed earth; intensely flavorful. My go to cigar when I’m craving a natural!

For a cuban lover of maduros and habanos, Padrón has been a great option since I left home, expensive, but worth it, this 1926 was not the exception!

As always the Padron 1926’s offer notes of coffee, earth with a finish of almond paste that lingers on the palate. A full bodied smoke for a diminutive size. Buy a box and you will enjoy!

The 1926 Padrons are aged for 5 years. Sweeter than the 1964, with a thicker wrapper, they are the gold standard of cigars in my opinion.

While I normally go for maduro in padrons I do tend to prefer the natural in the 1926 no 6. Delicious little smoke for when you don’t have a ton of time

The 1926 natural is one of my favourite Padrons. This vitola however isn’t my go to. Don’t get me wrong the flavours are all there but the length just leaves me wanting more. 5 stars!

Living in a humid environment can be challenging as a cigar smoker. I’ve found that Padron is unfazed by any weather condition. This cigar starts with a blast of Padron spice and has a long citrus finish that coats the mouth in a beautiful oily fashion. The complexity and depth on this natural is unreal. Each puff leaves you yearning for more. Check these out, you won’t regret it.

I had high hopes for the No. 6. At first, I thought I might have burnt the foot when toasting it as it started off a little one-dimensional intense black pepper. I gave it a moment to settle and it turned in to a remarkable cigar. Very smooth and balanced. I was expecting a full body smoke. It ended up being a medium ++. It had flavors of chocolate, coffee and nuttiness. There was some red stone fruit on the finish. There was definitely a long sweet finish as the cigar warmed up which made the cigar very enjoyable.

As someone who prefers mild to medium cigars, I had always avoided Padron – expensive and described almost as always as full-strength, full-body, they had not appealed (especially with the price tag). A friend recently gifted me one, and I enjoyed it so much, I had to buy a box from Oxford – an incredibly intense experience with these, and it really reminded me of a really dark Italian espresso, with a little bit of sweetness. a lot of oak, and not a hint of ‘bite’. Definitely a cigar I’d suggest having a meal before if you’re not a full-strength cigar type person, but it’s refined taste and perfect construction make the price and time taken to enjoy well worth it.

One of my favorite little smokes. My only complaint about Padron is that they smoke a little quickly, but they make up for it in flavor and the ever perfect burn. Great smoke for when you don’t have a lot of time.
