IGM Cigars (Inversiones González Martínez) is a family-owned boutique cigar company with deep Cuban roots, established over 25 years ago in San José, Costa Rica, by the Ferrer family—heirs to a rich tobacco legacy from mid-20th century Cuba who relocated to the fertile highlands of Costa Rica in 1997. Led by gifted Cuban agricultural engineer José González Ferrer, IGM grows its own proprietary tobacco on its farm in the mountainous region of Santa Marta de Puriscal at over 3,000 feet above sea level, where the nutrient-rich volcanic soil and unique microclimate produce truly rare and distinctive leaf. All IGM cigars are handcrafted entirely by expert torcedores at the company’s boutique factory in Rohrmoser, San José, using traditional Cuban blending and rolling methods alongside premium tobaccos sourced from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Ecuador.
