Punch Cigars
Punch is one of the oldest cigar brands in the world, originally founded in 1840 in Havana, Cuba by a German businessman named Stockmann and named after the beloved “Mr. Punch” character from the classic Punch and Judy puppet shows popular among British cigar buyers. The non-Cuban version—one of the first premium brands ever produced in Honduras—has been manufactured since the 1960s under General Cigar Company (now Scandinavian Tobacco Group) at the STG Danlí factory, and remains one of the best-selling premium cigar brands in the United States. The extensive portfolio includes the classic Punch core line (Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper), Gran Puro (all-Honduran puro, 93-rated), Gran Puro Nicaragua (Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro), Signature (Ecuadorian Corojo Maduro), the AJ Fernandez-blended Diablo (Ecuadorian Sumatra Oscuro, full-bodied), and the Golden Era (Honduran Corojo puro)—spanning mild to full-bodied profiles of pepper, leather, cedar, chocolate, earth, and spice across a wide range of vitolas and price points.
