Somm Cigars is a wine-inspired boutique cigar brand launched in 2023 by Vlada Stojanov, a trained wine sommelier turned cigar industry veteran who founded his distribution business in 2017 and drew on years of expertise in both wine and tobacco to create a brand that bridges two worlds of sensory pleasure. The portfolio is built around two main pillars, each paying homage to a celebrated wine region: the Somm BDX, referencing France’s Bordeaux region, handcrafted at Cavalier Genève’s Fábrica Centroamericana de Tabaco (FCT) in Danlí, Honduras; and the Somm Rioja, honoring Spain’s famed Rioja wine region, produced at Eladio Diaz’s Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera in the Dominican Republic using a three-year-aged Dominican Corojo wrapper over a three-year-aged Sumatra binder with four Dominican fillers each aged four years. An additional limited offering, the Somm Premier Cru, was produced at the prestigious Kelner Boutique Factory in the Dominican Republic.
