The Casdagli Block Chain Smoker Special Edition stands as a groundbreaking release from Jeremy Casdagli’s celebrated portfolio, representing a bold intersection between traditional cigar craftsmanship and blockchain innovation. This Wide Churchill vitola showcases the mastery of Tabacos de Costa Rica’s boutique factory, where three years of patient aging has transformed an already exceptional blend into something truly extraordinary.
Key Features
- Ultra-rare limited edition originally created for exclusive NFT cigar club members
- Enhanced Villa Casdagli blend with additional Nicaraguan tobacco for increased complexity
- Three years of careful aging for optimal balance and smoothness
- Wide Churchill format (55 x 5.25″) offering generous smoke production
- Handcrafted at the prestigious Tabacos de Costa Rica boutique factory
- Presented in elegant piano-finished boxes of 20 cigars
- Ecuadorian wrapper and binder with multi-national filler blend
Drawing from the acclaimed Villa Casdagli robusto blueprint, this special edition incorporates an extra measure of Nicaraguan leaf that elevates the blend’s richness and depth. The Ecuadorian wrapper, grown in the cloud-covered valleys where volcanic soil meets Pacific coastal breezes, provides a silky canvas for the complex interplay of tobaccos within. After 36 months of rest, these tobaccos have married into a harmonious symphony that reveals itself gradually through each third.
The construction quality reflects the exacting standards Jeremy Casdagli has maintained since his early days working with Cuban master roller Carlos Valdez Mosquera. Each cigar demonstrates the meticulous attention to detail that comes from small-batch production at one of Costa Rica’s most respected boutique factories. The Wide Churchill format allows the blend to express itself fully, with the 55 ring gauge providing ample real estate for the diverse tobacco components to shine.
What began as an innovative partnership between Casdagli Cigars and the cryptocurrency community has resulted in one of the most intriguing releases in recent memory. While the original NFT membership concept evolved differently than planned, these cigars remain as tangible artifacts of innovation in the premium cigar world. The Block Chain Smoker Special Edition bridges traditional European cigar heritage with modern luxury concepts, creating something genuinely unique for collectors who appreciate both craftsmanship and exclusivity.
The flavor journey begins with creamy sweetness reminiscent of butterscotch and vanilla bean, before evolving into layers of roasted malt, oak, and subtle fennel seed. The Peruvian tobacco contributes an earthy foundation, while Dominican leaves add refined sweetness. As the smoke progresses, notes of milk chocolate, leather, and baking spices emerge, with the retrohale revealing white pepper and toasted bread characteristics that linger pleasantly between draws.

What makes the Casdagli Block Chain Smoker Special Edition unique?
This cigar represents a pioneering collaboration between traditional cigar craftsmanship and blockchain technology. Originally designed for an exclusive NFT membership club, it features an enhanced Villa Casdagli blend with additional Nicaraguan tobacco and three years of aging.
How does this compare to the regular Villa Casdagli line?
The Block Chain Smoker Special Edition builds upon the Villa Casdagli robusto blend but adds extra Nicaraguan tobacco for increased complexity. The three-year aging process creates a richer, more nuanced profile than the standard Villa Casdagli offerings.
What factory produces these cigars?
These cigars are handcrafted at Tabacos de Costa Rica in Puriscal, one of Costa Rica’s premier boutique cigar factories known for producing exceptional small-batch releases for the Casdagli brand.
What can I expect from the flavor profile?
Expect creamy sweetness with notes of vanilla and butterscotch, balanced by roasted malt, oak, and leather. The blend delivers milk chocolate, baking spices, and subtle fennel seed, with white pepper appearing on the retrohale.
Why are these cigars so limited?
Originally produced exclusively for NFT club members, production quantities were intentionally kept small. When the original project evolved, the existing inventory became available in extremely limited quantities through select retailers.
What is the ideal pairing for this cigar?
The complex flavor profile pairs excellently with aged rum, single malt whisky, or craft imperial stouts. The creamy sweetness also complements espresso-based drinks or vintage port.
How should I store these special edition cigars?
Store at 65-70% humidity and 65-70°F temperature. Given their three-year aging, these cigars are ready to smoke immediately but will continue developing complexity with additional rest in proper conditions.
Is this connected to Jeremy Casdagli’s other releases?
Yes, this special edition draws from Jeremy Casdagli’s extensive portfolio, specifically building upon the successful Villa Casdagli blend while incorporating the innovation and exclusivity that characterizes all Casdagli releases.

Always excited to see a new Casdagli release and this didn’t disappoint. Lots of smoke output and a nice complex smoke overall. The vitola size reminds me of the Jure which is another Casdagli I love, this almost feels like a tweaked blend of that. Love it!

As chap said, Casdagli never missed. I smoked this one on a long drive, windows open wind blasting, still a pretty perfect burn. Great flavors from this one, now I need a box 🙂

Casdagli simply doesn’t miss. Bigger ring viaje than I typically would go for but I had to try given it’s a Casdagli. Medium body smoke with notes of cedar and cocoa. Smooth and creamy. Pretty linear throughout the smoke. Not any noticeable transitions for me but that’s ok because it’s was darn good! Excellent construction both on the draw and burn. 5 pack and/or box worthy smoke for sure.

Great review chop, I agree, great cigar but a little linear. Not really in a bad way since the flavor was on point
