Crowned Heads Las Calaveras El 2025
Step into the tradition and anticipation that surrounds Crowned Heads Las Calaveras, one of the most celebrated annual releases in the premium cigar community. Since its inception in 2014, Las Calaveras has become a symbol of remembrance, paying homage to those who have passed, while inspiring cigar lovers to celebrate life’s journey with every puff.
The 2025 edition marks a notable milestone—for the first time in seven years, and only the second time ever, this year’s Las Calaveras features a distinctive San Andrés (Mexico) wrapper. But this is not your typical dark San Andrés Maduro. Instead, Crowned Heads have selected a mid-priming leaf, resulting in a lighter Colorado shade. This unique choice allows the blend’s nuanced flavors—coffee, espresso, and toffee—to shine through, balancing the more familiar pepper and earth notes associated with the brand. As Crowned Heads President Jon Huber explains, this wrapper brings new life and character to the blend, making the 2025 release truly special.
Manufactured at the renowned My Father Cigars in EstelÃ, Nicaragua, Las Calaveras El 2025 is produced in limited quantities, with just 1,500 boxes of each of the three main vitolas, totaling 108,000 cigars. In addition, an exclusive 4-cigar sampler—featuring one of each main vitola plus a sampler-only Petite Lancero (6 1/2 x 40)—is available in 3,000 units.
Each 24-count box is thoughtfully packed in three rows of eight cigars, a design that reflects the cycle of life: beginning, middle, and end. The number eight holds special significance—standing for new beginnings in biblical tradition and representing infinity (eternal life) when laid on its side. This packaging underscores the Las Calaveras philosophy: to honor the past while looking forward to new possibilities.
