El Bajo sits in a pristine valley where natural minerals and nutrients wash down from the surrounding mountains, creating soil conditions that are ideal for cultivating tobacco with unusual richness and depth. Only the highest primings of the plant, the corona leaves that receive the most sunlight and carry the most oils and flavor, are selected for Maximus wrappers. Those leaves are then re bulked and re fermented by Carlos Fuente, a process that concentrates flavor, removes harshness, and produces the cigar’s signature dark, glossy appearance.
