I’ll start this off by saying I’ve never smoked the pledge, but overall I enjoyed it. It’s hard to describe a firecracker in 3rds but the first half inch was very bitter, earthy, and ammonia-y. Once I got to the first band the whole dynamic changed for the better. Sweet cedar, coffee, pepper were the main flavors I got till the end. I think it’ll get better over time, and there’s a lot of potential for it.

Really glad they they did this in the firecracker this year. I enjoyed the regular version of this but feel this really hit the spot. Still get those dark chocolate and coffee notes. This is a quick smoke as I only got about 40 minutes out of it but enjoyed it very much. Always excited to see what they offer in the firecracker each year. This year they definitely found a winner with this blend. Glad that oxford was able to get some and at a stellar price.

I didn’t wait long to light this one up. I don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but I like it when a cigar you know gets made in a different format. The switch from box press to parejo or vice versa always brings new elements to the smoke. This is slightly less pepper forward than the normal pledge, though there is still plenty of spice to go around. Slightly woodier, closer to the la historia profile. I wish they had done this with the Allegiance, hopefully one day! Stop glad I grabbed one of these to try. Ernie rarely lets me down.
