La Flor Dominicana Air Bender Chisel Natural
La Flor Dominicana Air Bender Chisel Natural showcases Litto Gomez’s patented Chisel innovation in a full-bodied Dominican masterpiece built around powerful ligero-rich tobaccos from the legendary La Canela estate. This 6 1/2 x 54 figurado features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper cloaking Dominican binder and long-fillers grown in La Canela’s nitrogen-rich soil, creating bold, concentrated flavor that defines LFD’s signature style. The distinctive Chisel head offers smokers unprecedented control, allowing them to pinch or cut the wedge-shaped tip for customized draw resistance while maintaining the cool, comfortable mouthfeel that inspired its creation.
The Chisel Innovation
Litto Gomez invented the Chisel shape after noticing how he naturally chewed cigar tips during smoking, reshaping them for better mouth feel. This observation led to the patented wedge-tapered figurado design that resembles a woodworking chisel or woodwind instrument mouthpiece. The flat head can be squeezed to create an opening without cutting, or clipped traditionally for those preferring conventional preparation. This versatile design delivers unique draw characteristics while the broader surface area provides cooler smoke and enhanced flavor delivery compared to standard torpedo or perfecto tips.

Flavor Experience
The opening delivers invigorating black pepper and earth alongside cedar foundations, establishing the bold character that defines this blend. Early notes include deep cocoa, leather, and intense baking chocolate aromas that translate into rich espresso and dark chocolate on the palate. As the first third progresses, syrupy sweetness emerges with nutty, cedar-like flavors balanced by peppery retrohale and grassy barnyard notes reminiscent of riding through long grass.
The middle section introduces creamy texture that accentuates sweetness, transforming the profile into caramel-like sweetened coffee. Toasted nuts, almond, and dried fruit nuances appear alongside savory leather and hardwood, creating layered complexity. The final third intensifies with baking spices, vanilla, charred oak, and hints of citrus and florals, culminating in a sensational finish where all elements converge. Throughout, the slow burn maximizes flavor development, rewarding patient smoking with evolving depth.
La Canela Estate Character
The 240-acre La Canela farm produces tobacco that forms the personality of La Flor Dominicana cigars. Located in dry, hot conditions with nitrogen-rich soil and abundant micronutrients, La Canela grows stronger, more concentrated tobacco than other Dominican regions. The estate produces approximately 1,200 pounds per acre, with tobaccos including Piloto Cubano filler and shade-grown Criollo ’98 and Habana 2000 wrappers. This terroir creates the intense, powerful character that distinguishes LFD from milder Dominican competitors, making La Canela tobacco the foundation of award-winning blends like the Andalusian Bull, Cigar Aficionado’s No. 1 cigar of 2016.

Always a solid smoke. Lots of nicotine to this, so if your sensitive be aware of that. I smoke a lot and this is still on the threshold of overly strong to me, but the consistent quality of the construction and the solid flavors see me come back to these. Also I love the chisel.
