I’ve always liked these. There’s not a ton that will wow you but the flavors for me has always been solid. For me I get cedar, hay and a sweet bread note. Very creamy and smooth. I thought this to be quite tasty. I actually liked this vitola (grand corona) than the robusto I normally smoke. At the sub $6 price point…. Total winner

Have you ever seen the movie The Deer Hunter? You know that waaaaay to long wedding scene that takes up almost the first half of the movie before things start to pick up? This cigar is like that movie, but it’s just the wedding scene until it ends. It’s a classic, I get it, and I get why, but sweet lord wake me up when’s it’s over. I would say it ok for a new cigar smoker, and it is in some regards, but there are just so many other options that share all of its prowess in that regard that also won’t bore people to tears, and at a similar price point.
It’s fine. It’s always been fine. It will never be anything special in my eyes.

There are similarities between this cigar and the AVO classic, which is one of my humidor’s staple. However the Macanudo lacks depth compared and is more flat tasting. There also isn’t any complexity with this cigar. With that said, there are also not many downside to this cigar. It’s decently priced for the quality and a not a bad choice for newcomers.
