I received a 5 pack of those Matildes for free during a recent promotion from Oxford. I wasn’t expecting much, except I heard some people say they were a good smoke. Well lo and behold these things aren’t good, they’re great! A really creamy stick with just the right balance of sweetness and earthiness to keep you coming back for me. Don’t hesitate to pick a pack of these up, especially if you enjoy a cigar in the morning with coffee as I think that would be the best pairing.

I could not agree more. This creamy Connecticut Blend makes for a great pair in the morning with coffee.

I really enjoyed this medium strength smoke. It has notes of sweet wood, nuttiness and citrus. This will definite age well. I taste a bit the Warped La Colmena No 44 profile in this one. Really enjoyed it. I am glad I have 15 more of them in the inventory.

I got these as a bonus with the recent anniversary sale. Great construction/combustion and nice easy smoke with mellow flavors including sweet bread and graham cracker. Nothing I would chase again but my dad prefers a lighter smoke and he absolutely loved them. Check these out if you enjoy a lighter profile that won’t break the bank.

I was really surprised by this. For the price I was expecting much less than I got even though I have been a fan of Matilde since I started smoking them. This is an unbelievable value, medium bodied, easy going and solid all the way through.

Really enjoyed this. Flavors were definitely in my wheelhouse. Creamy, almond, roasted nut and cedar. smoked like an absolute dream. Construction was spot on. Draw was great and the price that Oxford is selling these at is an absolute steal. A definite winner for me

I’ve circled back to Matilde after a couple years because Lucas said I had to try the new stuff. This Limited Edition cigar is a well constructed toro with a nearly seamless smooth light tan Ecuadorian wrapper. This cigar starts off light and creamy, with notes of cashew and very light white pepper notes. The cigar burned flawlessly, the ash was solid and held for almost two inches. If you haven’t tried the new Matilde lines, they’re all smoking very well. This particular blend would rival the Warped La Colmena which is 3x the cost. Supply is very limited, order some to smoke today!

Good cigar – mild and very enjoyable. Opens with a creamy mix of nuts, straw and bread. There’s a little bit of coffee bitterness to balance things. The bitterness fades after the first third, however. Several touch ups to the burn line and a re-light were needed. Issues, I suppose, but not serious ones. Very enjoyable and would probably go well with a morning cup of coffee as several of the reviewers mentioned.

I absolutely love this cigar. It always has great construction and burn, and offers a wonderful profile for the price. Super creamy with a nice sweetness. One of my all-time favorite cigars to give my friends who might not be down for a dark smoke, but still endlessly enjoyable for seasoned smokers as well!

This would make for a great morning smoke or first-cigar-of-the-day. Mr. Sejas kept all the flavors intact with a lighter overall profile.
Medium-strength cigars with plenty of nuance is where I’d peg this.

These are quite nice – I’ve never had a Matilde before so I have little to compare it to, but I feel this is a higher-quality connecticut cigar than one typically would find. There’s clearly some reasonably aged tobacco in this cigar, as it’s bereft of any pepper or offensive levels of spice, instead imparting a slightly creamy and bready flavour, with a touch of pleasant acidity (sort of like a light roast coffee), much like an Avo Classic cigar might have. For the price, I was truly impressed. A very good, gently spiced, ‘relaxing’ cigar. Deducted a single star only for personal reasons – I don’t tend to go for toro size cigars, and the slow-ish burn time means these cigars are a relatively significant time commitment! That may not matter to others.

Great cigar to have with your morning coffee. Good construction. On the mild side. Worth a Fiver. Heard supply is limited so I would order soon.

I wasn’t expecting much from this before I lit it up, but it was a fantastic smoke! It hit nice floral, brady notes with a little bit of white pepper and funk to keep it interesting. Reminiscent of Avo and Davidoff in my opinion.

Construction was great, but the draw was a smidge to loose for me. As far as the flavors are concerned, this cigar is creamy, cedar, baking spice, and almonds with a slight white pepper retro. This is not a cigar I normally go for but I’ll enjoy the other few I have throughout time. I suspect this should age very well.

I was quite surprised with how good the Skip Barber was. Got a free 10pack during a sale, but would absolutely buy a bundle. Only issue I’ve had, was the bands always take some wrapper with it, doesn’t matter how far I burn down

This one surprised me. Got a 10 pack for free during a promotion and smoked one a week later on the golf course. Dang good. Cream, nuts, white pepper, light coffee. Good construction. It seemed to burn a little faster than I was expecting for the size, but it was also a windy day.

Great construction. Wrapper is very nice and supple. Good flavors of cream, bread, and light woods. This is not a bland connie. Considering the size I think this is a great value.

Quality construction, with a nice and even burn. Notes of caramel, baking spices and hints of leather; medium bodied. Good value for the money!

Actually a very enjoyable medium bodied smoke that had excellent burn and construction. I’ve had a few Matildes over the years and I have yet to have a bad one. Overall a solid smoke at a solid price.
