A Legendary Tribute from a Son to His Father
The original My Father cigar is more than just a smoke; it’s a heartfelt tribute from son Jaime Garcia to his legendary father, José ‘Pepin’ Garcia. Created in secret and released in 2008, this blend quickly captured the hearts of aficionados, earning a 94-point rating and the #3 Cigar of the Year spot from Cigar Aficionado in 2009. It stands as a cornerstone of the Garcia family’s celebrated portfolio, a testament to their passion, heritage, and mastery of Nicaraguan tobacco.
This exquisite cigar is handcrafted at the prestigious My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It features a stunning, oily Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper that encases a robust, all-Nicaraguan core of binder and long-filler tobaccos grown exclusively on the Garcia family’s farms. The construction is flawless, showcasing a beautiful triple-seam cap and ensuring a perfect draw and an impressively even burn from start to finish.
A Rich and Complex Flavor Symphony
Prepare for a full-bodied and exceptionally complex flavor experience. The My Father cigar opens with a peppery spice that is beautifully balanced with notes of cedar, leather, and rich coffee. As the smoke progresses, these initial flavors are joined by a symphony of nuances, including toasted nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a hint of vanilla. It’s a meaty, sophisticated, and surprisingly smooth smoke with a long, satisfying finish that leaves a lasting impression.

Fantastic. Just what My Father cigars should be, bold and peppery, full or cedars goodness, and built like tanks. Gorgeous wrapper and construction on these. I find the Pepns cigars to be some of the most beautifully presented cigars in the world, the wrappers always look fantastic, and they put out some really nice boxes and bands. Big points for presentation.
As for the flavor and strength, this is assertive but not overpowering if you like stronger cigars. I have a mind to stash a box of these at the bottom of my humidor, I strongly suspect that they would be like fine wine.

My Father is always a solid choice and I enjoy a lot of their blends. The #4 lancero is one of my favorites of all time so I thought I’d try the robusto to compare. It did not disappoint. I’m getting cedar, hay and some Graham cracker. There is some inherent sweetness from the wrapper that reminds me of honey and brown sugar. The construction was absolutely on point. Great draw, smoke production and burn. MF flys a little low on my radar and it really shouldn’t as they make great sticks and I’ve never been disappointed. Great value on this!

My father Lancero’s reputation precede it. My expectations were high. The flavours did not disappoint. Starting from 10% in, the complexity really shines. However this cigar is a nicotine bomb! I havent been smoking cigars for too long but am certainly no newcomer, yet by half way through I was struggling to continue. Every puff was destroying me. This is the first time Ive put down a cigar halfway due to the strength of it. Your miles might vary as my other 2 friends who were smoking it with me didnt have similar issues. But you have been warned! For myself, think it will be a long time before I forget the memory and light another one up.

O blend clássico da marca. Este gosto bastante de fumar com um expresso e chocolate 70%.
