This cigar focuses the full Padron 1964 blend into an intense, 4.5 x 46 format. Every draw offers a dynamic flavor experience: initial bursts of dark chocolate and espresso met with notes of raspberry sweetness, roasted nuts, and Padron’s distinctive spicy toast on the retrohale. Structural notes of cedar and leather develop as you progress, with undertones of anise and black pepper for sophistication. Properly smoked with gentle draws, the Principe Maduro rewards with creamy, lingering smoke and the layered complexity that defines the 1964 Anniversary Series.
Construction is exemplary, with each box-pressed stick maintaining its shape and delivering a consistent draw. Careful smoking ensures balance: a steady pace avoids overheating and brings out the best in the blend. Ideal for when time is limited but flavor demands are high, the Principe Maduro fits morning coffee breaks, celebratory toasts, or evening pairings with espresso, bourbon, or port.
Store these cigars at 65-68% humidity and 68-70°F to preserve their oily wrapper and encourage further aging. The concentrated format and double banding reinforce the Padron legacy—each cigar is both collectible and ready to be enjoyed in the moment.

How does it taste compared to the Natural version?
The maduro version offers punchier dark chocolate, espresso, and raspberry sweetness, while the Natural brings forward cedar, citrus, and subtle spice in a refined profile.

The blend’s intensity and concentrated format best suit experienced smokers—newcomers may prefer starting with milder, larger ring gauge cigars before trying the Principe Maduro.

How should it be smoked to avoid bitterness?
Take slow, measured draws, spacing puffs 45–60 seconds apart to ensure the small ring gauge doesn’t overheat; rotate for even burn and let it rest if bitterness appears.
How should Padron Principe cigars be stored?
Maintain 65–68% humidity and 68–70°F for best results; allow at least two weeks’ rest after shipping and longer aging for added smoothness and complexity.

Fantastic little cigar. Perfect for when you don’t have the the time for a bigger stick, but still want a Padron.

Compares favorably to the Padron 1926 no 35, but a bit less intense. That said, if you’re looking for a full bodied, flavorful and complex cigar, but don’t have an hour to set aside, I’d highly recommend the Padron 1964 Anniversary Principe Maduro!

Highly recommended, this small smoke was intense and tasty, great aroma and construction. With a very nice balance and a mixture of flavors, comes perfect after a good dinner or with a drink at the sunset.

Between the Principe maduro and Natural I might give the edge to the maduro, typically I prefer naturals so this is an exceptional maduro for me. But this is just another Padron that tastes like a Padron (which is a great thing of course) but in a small package which is great when short on time. Awesome stuff, as always.

This is a perfect winter sized smoke and one of my favorite vitola in 1964. Great flavor. You definitely can’t go wrong with it, I usually always keep a box around.

My favorite “small” cigar. Great 40 minute or less smoke. Powerful flavor. Great on the retro-hale . Always keep a box in my humidor.

One of my all time favorite short sticks. Always a great draw and almost always extraordinarily toothy. You simply cannot go wrong with this cigar.

These principes are great for quick smokes when you need those amazing Padron flavors in a small package. These deliver consistent chocolate notes with a nice pepper on the retro. Long tannic finish that leaves savory oils on the palate. The only reason I give this 4/5 stars is because I actually prefer the natural in this size. I typically prefer maduro Padron over natural but this size can leave harsh notes on the palate. A great experience nonetheless.

The Maduro principe suffers in my opinion from the gauge. It smokes a little too hot and can get bitter quickly. If you really slow down with it there are some good flavors to be found, chocolate, roasted nuts, black pepper and anise. But double puffing will quickly make those pepper notes overwhelming, and the gauge combined with the typical loose draw of a Padron can be hard to wrangle.

Every time I some this one, I get raspberry chocolate notes right on the light up of it and throughout the cigar. There are woody nuttiness, the famous Padron spicy toast aromas, slight earth, and touch of coffee. This is an outstanding cigar that is smooth, great amount of smoke with no bitterness. All-round solid cigar.
