Flavor Profile
Tatuaje Avion draws inspiration from the renowned Fausto blend, translating its signature power into a series of distinctive figurados. The dark, toothy wrapper encases a core of robust Nicaraguan tobacco, producing deep flavors of cocoa, coffee bean, roasted nuts, black pepper, and subtle sweetness. Earth, leather, and spice dominate the profile, creating an assertive character balanced by refined complexity. The trademark double perfecto shape concentrates the draw, allowing flavors to evolve dynamically from first light through final puff.
Reviewers consistently praise Avion for delivering balanced power and sophistication, offering full-bodied intensity without sacrificing refinement. The spicy, earthy, and leathery depth makes this cigar deeply satisfying after hearty meals or when paired with strong coffee or bourbon. Each puff reveals the meticulous blending expertise Pete Johnson brings to every release, while the My Father Cigars factory construction ensures excellent burn and draw that requires minimal attention throughout the smoke.
Collector Appeal
The annual release schedule creates anticipation among Tatuaje enthusiasts, with each year bringing subtle differences that collectors prize. Limited availability and unique vitola variations make Avion boxes sought-after additions to serious humidors. The distinctive airplane band and dramatic perfecto shape provide visual impact that distinguishes these cigars from typical releases, while the full-bodied flavor profile ensures they stand out in taste as much as appearance.

tatuaje’s cigars look interesting and slightly different from regular cigars. That’s why I bought it. I like novelty. After receiving the goods, the cigar smelled a little pungent, so I decided to leave it for a while before smoking. Just finished smoking this cigar yesterday, on the whole is more ordinary, there is no surprise. The smoke is still relatively rough, the taste is relatively rich, it is recommended to smoke in an open area, otherwise it is easy to get dizzy.

The Tatuaje Avion 13 Reserva boasts a rich, oily wrapper and boasts impeccable construction. It delivers a smooth, firm feel and even burn. Layers of earth, cedar, leather, and cocoa follow an initial peppery punch, with hints of spices, herbs, and cream on the retrohale. The open draw and balanced strength and complexity make for a satisfying smoke.

Good expression of the Fausto blend, I prefer the regular Fausto line to this, but still a fanatic peppery/leathery smoke.

Heavy earth, leather, and pepper. The cigar is powerful, and could probably do with some rest.
