Almost a year later and these are coming along superbly. I wish I could compare it to the OG Tenderloin, but I have not been disappointed in the slightest. The butcher shop wrapping was such a nice touch.

Full disclosure, I’ve grown a little weary of the non stop Mexican San Andreas wrappers. I loved the original and the second release, both with broadleaf wrappers. I’m not sure if this is actually the same blend as it feel way way more mild than the past 2 releases. It’s Tatuaje so it’s good, but if you’re tired of chasing the limited releases, then this is definitely one I wouldn’t hesitate to skip.

First impressions, I can see why pork tenderloin is in the name. It has a salty and creamy long finish.
The Tatuaje Pork Tenderloin boasts a complex and flavorful smoking experience that engages the senses from the very first puff. The blend offers a rich interplay of notes, ranging from earthy leather, bitter espresso, and dark chocolate, to sweet licorice and dark fruit. The construction is excellent with a perfect draw, impressive burn line and abundant smoke production.

Tatuaje brings back the popular “Pork Tenderloin” but this time wrapped in the San Andres Sumatra wrapper. Just like the original, it’s a winner! Great tasting cigar. Perfect Construction. Another win by Tatuaje.

Another great Tuxtla release from Tatuaje! This cigar has excellent earth tones, with notes of spice and a touch of sweetness. The profile shifted throughout smoking in an excellent way that allowed for a super enjoyable and exciting smoking experience throughout. If you’re a fan of earthy-tone cigars with an exciting profile throughout, then this cigar is definitely for you. Definitely a unique and polarizing smoke, but if it’s up your alley, then you’re in for a real treat.

Man I’m glad I grabbed some when I had the chance. Earthy in a really nice way, with a rustic crusty brown bread quality to it. The smoke is smooth and rich, and there is some spice but it’s very muted, very much a part of the blend rather than something that jumps out at you. There is just a hint of raisin sweetness, and the finish has a little bit of a numbing antiseptic quality. This is the best use of the tuxtla wrapper I’ve had yet. Medium strength, full body and medium flavor.

The Tatuaje Lomo De Cerdo (Pork Tenderloin) cigar is a third release for this limited edition cigar. Originally released in 2011, then again in 2016, this version is wrapped with San Andres tobacco from the Tuxtla city/region of Mexico, and is special from the first puff. I was immediately struck by the bold flavors of leather and cocoa right off the light, which blended seamlessly. The leather notes in this cigar were particularly impressive. They were robust and full-bodied, yet also smooth and refined. The cocoa notes were also prominent, adding a subtle sweetness that perfectly balanced the leather. The combination is straight fire.
In addition to its outstanding flavor profile, the Tatuaje Lomo De Cerdo is also beautifully constructed. The wrapper is a beautiful dark brown, with thicker veins, characteristic of San Andres leaf, and the cigar itself has a nice weight to it. It burned evenly right off the truck, and produced a satisfying amount of smoke with a pleasant, slightly resistant draw, which added to the overall enjoyment of the smoke. The packaging is also part of the fun, as the bundles of 25 are wrapped in butcher paper and labeled as if they were a premium cut.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Tatuaje Lomo De Cerdo cigar to anyone who appreciates a medium bodied, full flavor cigar. This is definitely a cigar that should be savored slowly, allowing the flavors to unfold. I am sure these will continue to develop, as the previous releases have done, getting better with age.
