Terra Nova Dark Fired Kentucky
Terra Nova Dark Fired Kentucky is a medium-bodied revelation for fans of smoky, robust tobacco, expertly blending American heritage and craft. This unique cigar harnesses centuries-old Kentucky curing traditions, transforming every draw into a journey through rustic barns and oak-hickory fired aromas.
- Dark Fired Kentucky tobacco – Leaves are slow-cured over smoldering oak and hickory wood for deep, authentic smokiness and rich, savory aroma
- Artisan curing process – Barn-hung leaves absorb smoky, woody intensity, resulting in robust character and nuanced sweet spice
- Rich flavor symphony – Expect earthy, roasted tones, prominent smoky notes, sweet spice, and a supporting profile of roasted pecan nut
- Medium body – Balances unmistakable smokiness with refined structure, making it approachable yet satisfying for contemporary palates
- Distinctive American character – Embodies the legacy, spirit, and bold taste of traditional Kentucky tobacco craftsmanship
This blend is lauded for its evocative, natural smokiness—some likening the effect to mesquite barbecue, balanced with sweet, tangy, and spicy elements that develop throughout the session. The earthy Connecticut wrapper adds an elegant frame to the bold, fire-cured filler, creating a layered experience with complexity and finesse. While reminiscent of Drew Estate’s Kentucky Fire Cured, reviewers note that Terra Nova’s blend captures a more rustic, unprocessed smokiness, with a character that’s both nostalgic and new.

Terra Nova has a familiar Smokey taste. Natural smokiness, sweet and tangy. Did anyone taste Mesquit?
It is different than a DE Kentucky Fire Cured Sweet, which was very clean or processed smoke infusion.

I found this blend to be interesting. I always love to try any Connecticut wrapper I can get my hands on. With this one having Kentucky fire cured tobacco I get that inherent smokiness. I get the characteristics from the shade wrapper… albeit with that smokiness that contributes to the flavor. It definitely adds another dimension to the profile of this. I’ve smoked other fire cured cigars and this is definitely on par with those. Glad I was able to try this and the price was phenomenal as always.
