I enjoyed the scotch bonnet like I have every release of peppers from Viaje. The cigar is bold, spicy, and strong like most of the peppers but this one was more balanced than the others it seemed. I got loads of pepper, Smokey charred cedar, and espresso. The burn for me was very wonky but I waited to see if it’ll correct itself and it did. The ash held on strong as well. If you find them, get them.

Loved both of these. The Phat Scotch Bonnet is very bold and full of flavor. Pretty much what I come to expect from viaje. I feel like the birthday blend was my favorite out of the two. It just hit for me a little better than the scotch bonnet. I felt the balance was better and the vitola was more my speed. Both excellent cigars. Really glad oxford carries these rare blends!

The Viaje PHAT Scotch Bonnet cigar, was big and bold in every aspect. This is a big and fat cigar. It’s a figurado shaped powerhouse, with a beautifully dark and oily wrapper characteristic of the spicy pepper shaped cigars from Viaje.
Upon lighting, I was greeted with an explosion of flavors including spicy pepper, new leather, and charred meat. The blend of tobaccos used in this cigar is masterfully curated, offering a delightful combination of smoky richness, and peppery strength. If you like bold cigars, Viaje never disappoints with their pepper lines. This is no exception, and is one of the most powerful blends that I’ve enjoyed.
The burn was impeccable, with a steady and even pace that allowed me to fully appreciate the flavors without any harshness. The ash held firm, showcasing the quality craftsmanship of this cigar.
