Tasting Notes:
Shiny, oily, and veinless American broadleaf wrapper is pleasing the eyes and sparking the appetite. The first third begins with creamy and milk chocolate notes, followed by a subtle spiciness in the retrohale. the body of the cigar is very elegant and the strength level is medium. In the second third, cedarwood, mocha, and roasted notes are evolving, providing an interesting combination on the palate. Beautiful white ash and a perfect draw are underlining the quality of the avo classic Maduro cigars.

Such a flavorful complex cigar. Very consistent all the way through.

I love this cigar. I wouldn’t say it could replace a Churchill Late Hour in the flavor and complexity department. But price wise, these will always be in stock in my humidor. Lovely chocolate and leather notes. Pairs well with pretty much anything you throw at it.

For those who always assume that Maduro means overpowering flavour (and often overpowering nicotine), the Avo Classic Maduro (along with the Ashton Aged Maduro) are proof that dark wrapper cigars really don’t have to be overwhelming. A nice mix of sweet tobacco, medium-roast coffee, and basic spices – it is not as complex a cigar as some, but it is refined and enjoyable – could be had after a good breakfast or after dessert!

This cigar is a damn good Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over Dominican binder and filler. Someone else in their Oxford review liken this cigar to the Davidoff Churchill Late Hour. I would agree. Not as complex nor does it have the subtle finish from the aging that the Late Hour tobacco gets from aging in scotch whisky casks. But is still damn good for more than half the price of a Late Hour. The tasting notes I get are:
1/3: nutmeg, cedar, herb and finishes with earthy notes maybe something like undergrowth.
2/3: leather, cedar, nutmeg
3/3: nutmeg, cedar and a bit of a fermented fruit on the finish.
Will definitely stocking up more of AVO Classic Maduro once I have some real estate free up from my inventory.

This is exactly what a maduro should be. Great flavor, smooth and rich.
