This cigar stands out among Connecticut Shade offerings, balancing creamy accessibility with the powerful kick of maduro tobaccos at its core—all wrapped in the spirit of collaboration. Flavors shift from grassy hay and sweet almond to a backbone of leather and white pepper, keeping each puff lively. Some may detect fleeting, savory tang notes akin to salt-and-vinegar chips. Though a few have found the final third more bitter or ashy, most agree the opening and mid-sections deliver a satisfying, genre-defying experience. The S84 is as enjoyable for Metallica devotees as it is for cigar connoisseurs, making it a perfect conversation starter or collector’s centerpiece.

Not bad, but nothing too write home about either. The flavor was nice until the last third, and then it got a very ashy bitter component. I would usually vent the cigar at that point, it I wasn’t enjoying it enough to be bothered. It is a sound flavor profile, hay, leather, white pepper, roasted almond, and at times I got something that reminded me of vinegar chips. I’ve got a few more to smoke through, hopefully that bitter finish was a one off.
