Patina Cigars is a boutique brand founded in 2017 by Mo Maali, a longtime cigar media personality and former national sales manager for Mombacho Cigars, built on the philosophy that life’s experiences shape who we are—just as the green oxidation of patina forms over bronze while the original character endures underneath. Originally produced at Mombacho’s Casa Favilli factory in Granada, Nicaragua under master blender Claudio Sgroi and now crafted at NACSA in Nicaragua, the growing portfolio includes the Connecticut (Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper), Habano (Ecuadorian Habano wrapper), Maduro (Under the Radar Cigar of the Year 2020 from Cigar Dojo), Sumatra (Ecuadorian Sumatra Oscuro wrapper, CT Broadleaf binder), the all-Nicaraguan Oro de Nicaragua (2024 Cigar of the Year from Simply Stogies), and limited Anniversary editions—all using Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf fillers—delivering mild to medium-full profiles of pepper, citrus, butter, cedar, almonds, chocolate, and cream at competitive price points that punch well above their weight.
