Solani Pipe Tobacco
Solani is a prestigious German pipe tobacco brand developed in 1997 by master blender Rüdiger L. Will, the legendary tobacco craftsman who created the original blends for Borkum Riff in 1968 and was born into the trade—his father owned a tobacco factory in Bünde, a historic center of the German tobacco industry in East Westphalia. The Solani name derives from the Latin word Solanum, the botanical term for the nightshade family to which tobacco belongs, and every blend is meticulously hand-blended using only the finest mature Virginias, Burleys, Orientals, Periques, and Latakias from around the world with as few additives as possible. The distinguished Solani lineup includes the Virginia Flake Blend 633, a classic cool-burning Virginia and Perique flake with natural sweetness; the Aged Burley Flake Blend 656, a pure, additive-free marriage of dark Kentucky, Brazilian, and Malawian Burleys; the Silver Flake Blend 660, a dark red Virginia and dark-fired Kentucky long flake; the Golden Label Blend 779, a sophisticated English crimp cut of red Virginia, fine Orientals, and Syrian Latakia; the White and Black Blend 763, a ready-rubbed English flake of dark Virginia, black Cavendish, and Latakia; the Red Label Blend 131, a sweet aromatic of bright Virginias, Burleys, and black Cavendish with a touch of Single Malt Scotch Whiskey; the Blue Label Blend 369, a mild, sweet VaPer with black Cavendish and Perique; the Green Label Blend 127, a naturally sweet Virginia and black Cavendish aromatic with fresh apple character; and the Sweet Mystery X Blend 113, a unique Virginia and black Cavendish aromatic with black currant, Bacardi, and CocoCream. Distributed by Kopp Tobaccos of Germany, Solani pipe tobaccos represent the pinnacle of old-world German blending artistry for discerning pipe smokers worldwide.
