St. Bruno Pipe Tobacco
St. Bruno is one of the most iconic pipe tobaccos in British smoking history, originally created in 1896 by Ogden’s of Liverpool and bearing the famous slogan “The Tobacco That Won’t Be Hurried.” After Ogden’s became part of Imperial Tobacco in 1902, St. Bruno grew to command an impressive 23% of the UK pipe tobacco market by its centenary in 1996. When Imperial closed its last pipe tobacco factory in 2006, production was taken over by Denmark’s renowned Mac Baren Tobacco Company, who purchased the trademark in 2015 and continues to craft St. Bruno to its original standards. The blend is built on a harmonious marriage of naturally sweet bright Virginia leaf and smoky dark fire-cured Kentucky tobacco, pressed and sliced into traditional flakes and lightly topped with subtle floral, citrus, and fruity casings that enhance rather than mask the exceptional leaf beneath. Available as St. Bruno Flake and the pre-rubbed St. Bruno Ready Rubbed, both cuts deliver a medium-strength, cool-burning smoke with well-balanced notes of woody earthiness, gentle sweetness, light citrus, and delicate floral undertones.
