Tasting Notes: Smokers describe the 2023 LE profile as opening with wood and oak, layering in creaminess, spice, and sweet undertones. The complexity is persistent, though not sharply changing—early notes of mocha latte, cowhide leather, and cumin spice give way to building pepper, dark rye bread, earthiness, and a chocolate-covered strawberry impression in the initial puffs. Cream fades as pepper and earthy backbone increase toward the nub.
Review consensus: This cigar is smooth, fairly complex, box-worthy for fans of the Cavalier profile, and best enjoyed slowly to appreciate its evolving character. While LE 2022 is noted as slightly sweeter (with smoked paprika), 2023 stands tall for those seeking a more earthy, cocoa-rich experience with a consistent Cavalier signature.

Needed one minor touch up to even the burn line but, otherwise, the burn was perfect. Moderate draw with a lot of smoke. The profile started with wood/oak and some creaminess (which faded during the smoke). There was also spices and some notes of sweetness. The profile did not seem to change a lot during the smoke, but the complexity was good. Overall, rather smooth. If you have a couple of hours to kick back and enjoy a smooth, fairly complex cigar, give this one a try.

Both the LE 2022 and 2023 having tasting notes of Mocha Latte, cowhide leather and gentle notes of ground cumin spice. The only difference is that I got the sweetness from smoked paprika on the LE 2022 that the 2023 does not have. I do not know if the blends are different as what is then is undisclosed for both. Maybe with age you get sweetness of smoked paprika. Time will only tell. The LE 2023 is box worthy. Given the choice, the LE 2022 is better.

This is a very nice cigar, especially the first half. The first few puffs reminded me of chocolate covered strawberries. Pepper starts to build on the palate as you smoke it, and it’s a steady increase down to the nub. The sweetness disappeared in the second half, and more of a dark rye bread takes its place. There is a nice earthy backbone throughout, and the chocolate notes stay true all the way through.

Have you smoked the Cavalier Geneve LE 2022 before? I wonder how the LE 2023 compares to the LE 2023.
