Easy cigar to smoke. great balance but not much complexity. Glad to find more maduros moving towards a more traditional profile. Nice to have options.

I appreciate Crowned Heads aiming this at ‘oldschool’ maduro fans – I’ve had to stay away from too many modern ones because (to my palette) too many are extremely strong, pepper-forward, and a bit one-dimensional. While I do like the occasional strong-and-up-front maduro, I found this cigar a delightful shift toward what I prefer in maduros (such as the Ashton Aged Maduro) – it’s like a semi-sweet fudge in flavour, slightly sweet at times, but mostly rich and decadent – it is distinctly creamy, with a pleasant oak-like quality for a clean finish. Strength is moderate at best. I truly wish more maduros were made this way, as it might convert more people to trying them who stereotype the style as (not unfairly) mostly for those who want very strong, very intense experiences.
