Metropolitan Host represents one of the most traditional expressions in the Ferio Tego portfolio. The blend was originally part of the Nat Sherman Metropolitan collection, a line that earned its audience by offering dependable construction, smooth Connecticut wrapper flavor, and a profile that remained accessible without becoming flat or anonymous.
Ferio Tego preserved the Host blend after the Metropolitan collection moved into the company’s portfolio. The recipe remains direct and time tested, using a Connecticut wrapper over Honduran binder and fillers. It is a classic configuration, but one that still works when the tobacco is selected and rolled with care. The wrapper brings cream and cedar, while the Honduran core adds dry earth, leather, toasted nuts, and a restrained peppery finish.
The Host line is available in several formats, allowing the smoker to choose between a more focused Corona, a traditional Robusto, a balanced Toro, a wider Gordo, or a longer Churchill. Each cigar should show a pale golden brown to light cinnamon brown wrapper, fine veins, a satin finish, and an evenly packed body. The Connecticut leaf gives the cigar its polished appearance and helps create a smooth, mellow smoke.
The first third begins with cream, aged cedar, toasted bread, and a light natural sweetness. Through the middle, leather, cashews, dry earth, and creamy oak add more depth, while soft white pepper keeps the profile active. The final third remains composed, with cedar, cocoa nibs, coffee beans, and gentle spice on the finish. The first third of the Metro host is a great mild smoke. However it really start to go downhill from the halfway point. The taste became so bland that I had to really convince myself to keep smoking. Personally I would not buy again.
PS the tip of this cigar is slightly sweetened.

Definitely like what I’ve tried from FT. At light up I’m getting bread, cashews and light hay. For me the cap definitely seems sweetened. Draw and smoke are perfect. The construction is spot on with this smoke. Definitely delivering on solid flavors and at a great price. Definitely like the robusto here as it gives the perfect smoke time for me. Good overall smoke.
