What a start! At light up this stick is wild, from the wrapper taste to the black pepper blast on the retro. Hard to even pin down the palate as there is so much going on but I found it so interesting that it was enjoyable. But before I even hit the 2nd third it dropped off hard. Crazy transition. For a moment I thought I was smoking an aganorsa puro, specifically the nica collaboration. Then just a few puffs later and nothing….just spice on the tongue. Bland, boring flavor and just spice. The black pepper retro disappears and I’m just smoking and waiting for change but it never did. Just blah. Maybe this is because they used no ligero? Not sure but very disappointing. Black pepper comes back in the last stretch but still blah on the palate. I would’ve loved to have seen the stick maintain the 1st inch all the way through even though it was so odd and overflowing with flavor at least it would’ve given me something interesting to try to pin down. 5 stars to Oxford but a fail on the smoke unfortunately. Another cigar aficionado head scratcher. How did this get a 95? I also wanna point out that the draw was great in the beginning and around the time that the flavor dropped off the draw tightened up as well. I’d like to blame a plugged cigar, but the draw eventually did open back up with no return to good form on the palate. Glad I tried, but I will not be getting another one of these.

This is an average smoke that I enjoyed but it would not be a re-buy for me. It started off as a rustic earthy notes with a little pepper and picked up some sweet fruit (maybe red stone fruit) finish until the end. If someone handed it to me, I would smoke and enjoy it.

Medium bodied. White pepper, cream, and a nice sweet cedar note.
