I chose the Habano blend over the Connecticut hoping for a bit more punch. This is a very pleasant, medium strength Dominican puro with lots of flavor. The cigar started with dominant notes of toasted bread and a well done caramel. This gave way to non-offensive earthy tones and hints of leather, but finished well with the last third having some really nice creamy, honey and citrus flavors that lingered on the palate. The cigar burned evenly and had a solid ash, though it was a little flaky at times. A resistant draw initially, it opened up almost immediately after a minute of warming up. I would definitely try these if you’re a fan of Caldwell, and this has been noted as the last ‘found’ cigar from the Lost & Found line with a limited release (200 boxes of each size, released two times a year). As well as this one performed, I will likely order a few of the Connecticut wrapper to try.
