Detailed Description
The No. 90 Natural represents a pivotal evolution in Padron’s portfolio, introducing the revered 1926 Serie blend in a cylindrical format that allows the aged Nicaraguan tobaccos to express themselves through different combustion dynamics. The extended aging program, utilizing tobacco leaves stored across 75,000 square feet of Padron’s Estelà warehouses, creates a smoking experience that unfolds with remarkable consistency from the initial light through the final inch.
Upon lighting, the No. 90 Natural delivers immediate waves of chocolate and cocoa, complemented by caramel sweetness and the refined leather notes that characterize well-aged Nicaraguan tobacco. The retrohale introduces measured black pepper alongside cedar and oak, while the palate detects nuances of roasted almonds, dark fruits, and subtle baking spices. These flavors intensify without becoming harsh, maintaining the creamy smoothness that distinguishes premium aged tobacco throughout the approximately 90-minute smoking duration.
Manufacturing occurs at Tabacos Cubanica S.A. in Nicaragua, where master rollers craft each cigar using tobacco selected from inventory sufficient for 25 million cigars. This vast reserve allows Padron to maintain consistency across production runs while ensuring only properly aged leaves enter the blend. The natural wrapper, grown in Nicaragua’s volcanic soils, undergoes its own five-year maturation process before application, resulting in the milk chocolate brown appearance and silky texture that enhance both visual appeal and flavor delivery.
The aluminum tubo packaging serves both practical and aesthetic purposes, protecting the round format during storage and transport while presenting an elevated gifting option. The cream-colored tube features Jose O. Padron’s signature rendered in gold alongside the company’s hammer silhouette logo, with a barcode marking Padron’s entry into modern inventory tracking systems.

Is the Padron 1926 No. 90 Natural suitable for beginners?
The full-bodied profile and complex flavor development make this cigar better suited for experienced smokers who appreciate nuanced, aged tobacco. Beginners might find the strength level overwhelming.
What makes the No. 90 different from other 1926 Serie cigars?
The No. 90 features a round format instead of the traditional box-pressed shape found in other 1926 Serie vitolas, plus it comes packaged in an aluminum tubo rather than standard boxes.
How long should I age these cigars before smoking?
The extensive pre-release aging means these cigars are ready to smoke upon purchase. Some aficionados prefer additional rest of 6-12 months to further round out the profile.
Does the tubo packaging affect aging potential?
Aluminum tubos provide excellent protection but limit air circulation. For long-term aging, transfer the cigar to a properly maintained humidor after purchase.
What distinguishes the Natural from the Maduro version?
The Natural wrapper produces a more complex, nuanced profile with prominent cedar and nuts, while the Maduro offers rounder, sweeter notes with intensified chocolate and coffee characteristics.
Are these cigars individually numbered?
Yes, each cigar features Padron’s double band system with an individually numbered authentication label to prevent counterfeiting.
What is the optimal humidity for storing these cigars?
Store at 65-68% relative humidity to maintain the aged tobacco’s characteristics. Higher humidity levels may cause burn issues with the dense, aged tobacco.
How does the round format affect the smoking experience?
The cylindrical shape provides different combustion dynamics than box-pressed cigars, often resulting in a slightly cooler smoke with more pronounced flavor transitions between thirds.

Dark fruits, pepper, creamy, gritty, bold and strong. This one’s different. It’s also round which is pretty neat for a Padron. I like it, I might need to smoke more or rest for a bit to round out that grittiness but overall it’s great.

A world class cigar no doubt! I gave it a 4 out of 5 because it is way too intense. In all honesty I don’t believe that are many people out there can handle this cigar fully. With that said, even tho I can’t handle it fully, I do appreciate its quality and taste!

What is there to say other than if you haven’t smoked a 1926, go and do it now! Not sure if I prefer the Maduro or the Natural, both are solid and you’ll hear no complaints from me on either.

My favorite cigar of the 1926 series, with a price that the competition can’t touch. Excellent construction, even burn, great flavor…everything that you’ve come to expect from Padron!

The Maduro is good, but it’s very strong. I like the natural better, still tons of flavor without the over the top pepper blast. Amazing member price too, 11 bucks cheaper than my local lounge.

Padron 1926 90th Anniversary Natural,
This cigar would be the second best Padron cigar I have smoked. The first being the Maduro.
It started a little stronger on the black pepper in the first 1/2 inch and then dissipated. In compared to the Maduro, the natural is more complex and less rounded in the tastes which is to be expected from a natural. This natural had the same notes as the maduro but the tastes of bitter walnut and oak and cedar flavor on the finish were edger as opposed to mellow and rounded in the maduro. This is a 5 star cigar = Unparalleled.

My favorite of the 1926 lineup. The tubo makes for a really nice gift or an easy travel cigar. My preference is the maduro, but can’t go wrong with either. Impossible to find another vendor that will sell you a single for the same price as a box!
