- Handcrafted in Nicaragua with Cuban-seed tobaccos aged nearly three years
- 92-rated by Cigar Aficionado Magazine for flavor and construction excellence
- Medium-bodied with a rich, complex flavor profile featuring chocolate, coffee, earth, and black pepper
- Smoother and sweeter than the Natural version, with deeper cocoa and espresso notes
- Razor-sharp burn, effortless draw, and signature soft box-pressed construction
- Exceptional value for an everyday smoke, with even greater complexity after aging
- Performs consistently across varying weather conditions and humidor environments
Each Padron 2000 Maduro begins with meticulous selection of sun-grown Nicaraguan tobaccos, all cultivated from Cuban-seed plants and aged to perfection. The maduro wrapper offers a gorgeous, dark espresso brown color with a toothy texture and subtle oil sheen. The soft box-pressed shape fits comfortably in hand, while the construction exhibits the hallmark Padron quality: firm yet forgiving when squeezed, with a seamless cap and tightly packed filler. Pre-light aromas from the wrapper reveal notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and earth, while the foot offers hints of raisin sweetness, cedar, and a subtle molasses richness. The cold draw is slightly open, typical of the Padron style, presenting flavors of cocoa nibs and sweet tobacco.
The first third opens with a creamy wave of chocolate and espresso, balanced by earthy tones and a gentle dusting of white pepper. As the cigar progresses, black pepper emerges more prominently on the retrohale, blending with the chocolate to create a layered, harmonious profile. The second third introduces deeper complexity, with cedar, leather, and a touch of cinnamon joining the chocolate and coffee base. The retrohale becomes creamier, with the pepper softening into a refined spice note that complements rather than dominates. In the final third, the Padron 2000 Maduro maintains its balanced character, finishing with rich earth, dark cocoa, and a lingering sweetness that speaks to the quality of the aged tobaccos. The cigar burns with precision, producing abundant smoke and a sturdy ash that holds for well over an inch.
Enthusiast reviews consistently note the cigar’s performance benefits from aging. Fresh boxes deliver immediate enjoyment, but resting these cigars for months or years transforms the profile into something remarkably close to the higher-priced Padron Anniversary and 1964 lines. The maduro wrapper brings a smoother, sweeter character compared to the natural version, making it a favorite among those who prefer deeper chocolate and coffee flavors with less bite. This robusto is equally at home as a quick 30-minute smoke or a leisurely pairing with bourbon, rye, or quality espresso.

I am not the biggest fans of Maduros typically. Padron just does them right somehow. This is a fantastic Nicaraguan cigar that exhibits excellent construction and bold yet refined flavours. If you let them rest for a while you will Be rewarded each time you re visit them.

Amazing smoke for the price, and it only gets better with age. I always have at least a box or two in the humidor, and make sure I keep at least half from each box to age over a few years.

Great little cigar. I prefer the 2000 vitola as I don’t always have a ton of time to smoke. This is always consistent and reliable smoke. I’m getting chocolate, coffee and leather. Slight spice in the form of white pepper. That classic slightly open Padron draw but the rest of the construction is on point. These are such a bargain as they are delicious and $8 or less more often than not. With Oxfords premier membership these are an absolute steal!

This is probably my least favorite of the thousand series, but that still means I prefer it to a ton of other cigars out there. I usually prefer a smaller gauge but with this series I find the bigger stuff just smokes smoother. The 2000 is the most abrasive of the bunch, but for the price it’s still a great smoke.

A consistent blend that never disappoints! When I light one up I know I’m getting an array of earthy flavors and black pepper balanced with a creamy chocolate note that is present from start to finish. I prefer the maduro, being both smoother and sweeter than the natural but you can’t go wrong with either. And for the price, it’s one of the best value sticks out there in my opinion.

The Padron 2000 Maduro is the perfect cigar, not counting Padron Anniversarios. Right away, the are chocolatey, creamy, earthy, and one hell of a cigar. They really benefit from about 5 years of age though. They aren’t quite as smooth as a 64 or 26, but with a few years, are very comparable.

Best bang for your buck robustos in the game. Always perfect construction. Not the most complex stick, but you know what you’re getting every time. 100% would recommend.

The Padron Series are some of the most solid, well performing cigars you can buy at a price that won’t break the bank. If you like Nicaraguan strength in an easily smokeable cigar that performs well regardless of the weather, you’re in the right spot. The Maduro 2000 is may favorite of the x000 series, preferably with several years on it to help the flavors mend together and become more chocolatey. When it’s humid out but I want a cigar, this is what I reach for.

Got a single, gotta be honest it was fantastic. I let it sit in my humidor for a few months, just so good, wish I bought more at the time.

Great value for quality! Whereas the 1926 and family reserves do not need any aging, I have found that these do benefit greatly from some time in the humidor. If you can keep your hands of them!

Always a great smoke right off the truck, but if you’re able to get some and stash them away for a few years and you’ll be even more impressed.

You cannot go wrong with this cigar. A consistently great smoke. It always burns well. This is a great smoke if you just have a short time, like 30 minutes. Medium body and rich.

Padron 2000 Maduro, Padron Millennium blends age very well. The 2000 has an absolutely gorgeous dark espresso brown wrapper that is toothy. The cigar has a dominant earth taste on the palate, interspersed with cedar and a touch of cinnamon.

Great flavor, great construction, quick burn, always consistently good. A alternative way to enjoy Padron favor without spending $10 a stick. Allow it to age and it will taste like a $10+ stick.
