Rich, Balanced, and Unexpectedly Sophisticated
The Patina Maduro Oxidation is a Toro Gordo (6 x 56) that breaks convention with its masterful blend, offering a Maduro experience that’s both robust and beautifully refined. Handcrafted at the acclaimed NACSA factory in Nicaragua, this cigar brings together a dark, oily Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and a dual-filler blend of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf tobaccos. Each box contains 16 impeccably rolled cigars, exuding boutique elegance and consistency.
This medium-to-full bodied smoke impresses from the first light with a core of chocolate and coffee, underscored by earth and hints of leather. The spice is present but never overwhelming, allowing for sweet notes of dried fruit, raisin, and graham cracker to shine through. As you progress, notes of black pepper, oaky wood, and a subtle mineral dryness develop, delivering a bold yet balanced flavor profile with a lingering, satisfying finish. The burn is razor-sharp and the construction consistently excellent, making Patina Maduro Oxidation a treat for those seeking complexity without overpowering strength.

Medium-full body smoke that’s rich and flavorful without being overpowering. Chocolate, coffee, and even a hint of earth and leather come through beautifully. The spice is there, but it dances with the other flavors instead of stealing the show. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a maduro with complexity and balance.

After having such a positive experience with the Connecticut version, I have started to pick up samples of the other blends. This one did not disappoint at all! Lately my preference has shifted to Mild/Medium smokes but this Maduro still knocked it out of the park. Phenomenally smooth profile with rich flavors, but not TOO bold or peppery. This is my kind of Maduro where I don’t need to be hit over the head with strength and pepper.
The CT blend is a box buy for me while this Maduro is at least a 5er or 10er.

Pretty good! I still think the Conneticut is the star of their show, but this was a very solid cigar.
