Plasencia Alma del Fuego – Ometepe-Driven Nicaraguan Puro (Box of 10)
Plasencia Alma del Fuego channels the volcanic soul of Ometepe, Nicaragua. This Nicaraguan puro pairs a luscious Jalapa wrapper with aged estate-grown tobaccos—spotlighting Ometepe leaves matured for seven years—to deliver a bold, vibrant profile that glows with heat, depth, and natural sweetness.
- Ometepe-centric terroir with leaves aged 7 years for concentrated flavor and aroma
- Nicaraguan puro featuring a refined Jalapa wrapper over select estate-grown core
- Full-bodied intensity: earth, leather, dark roast coffee, cocoa, and caramelized sweetness
- Distinct personality within the Alma series—more punch and volcanic brightness
- Handcrafted consistency for reliable draw, sturdy ash, and even combustion
- Box of 10 cigars—ideal for rotation, pairing sessions, or cellaring
Expect a fiery opening with pepper-kissed earth and espresso, quickly rounding into velvety cocoa and toasted wood. Mid-bowl, hazelnut and caramel notes emerge alongside a grassy mineral lift unique to Ometepe. The finish lingers sweet and smoky, with the Jalapa wrapper adding aromatic finesse and balance. Complex yet composed, Alma del Fuego rewards a steady cadence and thoughtful retrohale.
Construction underscores the experience: confident ignition, straight burn lines, and a firm, resilient ash. While captivating fresh, a season in the humidor further integrates sweetness and tames the early spice, refining the cigar’s volcanic character into a richer glow.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sets Alma del Fuego apart from other Alma releases?
Its Ometepe focus delivers a volcanic, mineral-tinged brightness with more punch than Alma del Campo and a different sweetness-heat balance than Alma Fuerte or Alma del Cielo.
How does Ometepe aging affect the flavor?
Seven years of aging concentrates sweetness, deepens cocoa and coffee tones, and smooths the spice, creating layered intensity without harshness.
What flavor notes should I expect?
Earth, leather, dark roast coffee, cocoa, toasted wood, and a caramelized tobacco sweetness, accented by grassy-mineral lift and peppery sparkle.
Is Alma del Fuego suitable for newer smokers?
It’s a full-bodied experience best for intermediate to advanced smokers. Enjoy after a meal and at a relaxed pace.
How is the construction and burn?
Excellent. Anticipate a steady draw, even burn, and firm ash when stored properly; minimal touch-ups are typically needed.
Does it benefit from humidor time?
Yes. A few months of rest harmonizes sweetness and spice, rounding the profile and polishing the finish.
Recommended pairings?
Espresso, dark roast coffee, rum with molasses sweetness, or a robust bourbon highlight its cocoa, coffee, and caramel notes.
What vitola shows the most “fuego” character?
Slimmer formats tend to feel spicier and brighter; larger gauges emphasize cocoa, wood, and a slower, deeper evolution.

I must first admit that generally speaking, nicaraguan tobaccos aren’t my thing. I usually find them too rough and spicy.
But that doesnt stop me from trying them from time to time. Every once in a blue moon I would find a nica cigar that I like. This however, is in my humble opinion, the best one Ive tried so far. It still have that signature nicaraguan earthy note, but also dominican creaminess. Loved every minute of it!

An awesome cigar. This has a unique flavor profile that stands out from the rest of the Plasencia Alma line. Grassy, along with hazelnut, chocolate, espresso, and caramel.

Well this was a treat. The roll is kind of rustic on these. In a good way. The wrapper has a soft velvety feel. Draw is perfect and flavours are sweet, spicy goodness with a lot of body. Some rich deep earthy and cocoa notes with some heavier wood, maybe oak. More punchy than the Alma Del Campo or Alma Fuerte. The Flama vitola is super fun and a wonderful time. 5 stars, box worthy in my opinion.

Solid smoke with a long burn time. Not my favorite Plasencia, but it offers an overall enjoyable & high quality smoking experience.

Such a fine cigar. I absolutely loved every second d of this. The Alma del Fuerte seems to get all the love, and I love it too, but this one is my favorite.

Esse é o dos Plasencia mais tops. Podem comprar sem medo, mas comprem vários. Sou fã de tabacos mais fortes e encorpados, esse tendo tabaco ometepe não tem erro. Fumem e aproveitem o espetáculo nicaraguense

One of my favorite cigars. Starts a bit spicy and turns into a smooth multilayered experience. I believe this one gets better with a bit of aging. Pick up a few for now and a few for later, you won’t regret this one.
