I had been hesitant to try this blend due to the cost. I must say, this connie was not very remarkable. Good construction, flavors, and smoke production, but nothing really stood out to me. The main flavors were cream, butter, breadiness, and some light sweetness. The profile got a bit charred in the final third. Good smoke but not the best value imo

This was very much a Connecticut Shade cigar for me. It has a bittersweet note to it with an undertone of citrus and white pepper. I enjoyed it but nothing “Wow” for me about it.

One of the best Connecticut cigars out there. Construction and draw have been excellent. Flavour is more bold than you would expect from a Connecticut and the first two thirds are exceptional. Occasionally the final third can get a little charred tasting but I do take these down to the nub every time.

I’m a big Connecticut guy especially since most of my cigars are smoked early morning. This was absolutely delicious. Sweet, buttery, hint of cinnamon and a touch of spice. This is a must have in the humidor.

Sweet cream profile very tasty, mellow cigar, really enjoyed this one. I really hope foundation continues to make more of these lighter body mellow cigars.

The Highclere Castle is an elegant smoke. For those of you who enjoy a Connecticut cigar in the morning with a spot of Earl Grey or light roast coffee, this is a wonderful cigar rolled by AJ Fernandez. Treat yourself to the flavors of Connecticut Shade, and the Brazilian Mata Fina featuring lots of creamy smoke with notes of baking spices, nuts, and cedar. The burn line is razor sharp, expected from aged leaves with expert construction. The first third opens up with cinnamon and cedar and shifts to a mellow toasty French bread, with a subtle pure tobacco flavor appearing now and then. The second third has roasted almond and hazelnut tones but has a buttery finish that lingers on the palate. The last third shifts to a citrus peel tartness, and a sophisticated aroma of charred oak barrel on the nose.

Reviewed with a friend – creamy cigar (as in it actually tastes like dairy cream). It’ like a light egg nog flavour – cinnamon, cream, some fruity sugary flavours, and some white pepper spice on the backhalf. This is lovely.
