Artisan Heritage & Master Craftsmanship
Steve Saka’s vision for Sobremesa Brûlée stems from his deep reverence for **classic mild Connecticut cigars** that shaped his early career in tobacco blending. This collection serves as both homage and innovation, carefully recreating the **sweet, nutty characteristics** of authentic shade-grown Connecticut Seed tobaccos that have become increasingly scarce in today’s market. Each cigar embodies Saka’s commitment to preserving the refined smoking traditions that made Connecticut cigars legendary among connoisseurs worldwide.
Exceptional Tobacco Components
Every Sobremesa Brûlée cigar showcases a **meticulously selected blend** featuring premium tobaccos from renowned growing regions:
- Wrapper: Premium **Ecuador Connecticut Shade** leaf, featuring distinctive golden-brown coloration with natural butterscotch and caramel undertones achieved through specialized curing and aging processes
- Binder: Rare **Mexican Matacapan negro de temporal** tobacco, providing exceptional structural foundation while contributing subtle complexity to the overall flavor experience
- Filler: Carefully selected **Nicaraguan tobaccos** sourced from three premier growing regions including Estelí, Condega, and Pueblo Nuevo, each contributing distinct aromatic and flavor characteristics
Complex Flavor Journey
Sobremesa Brûlée delivers an **extraordinarily smooth yet sophisticated smoking experience** that evolves beautifully throughout each session. The initial draws present **luxurious notes of creamy peanut butter, rich caramel, and warm butterscotch**, complemented by elegant undertones of aromatic cedar, smooth vanilla, and delicate milk chocolate.
As the cigar develops, the flavor profile gracefully transitions to reveal **refined nuances of warm cinnamon, golden honey, and gently roasted nuts**, all while maintaining the blend’s signature creamy smoothness. The experience concludes with a **naturally sweet finish** enhanced by subtle white pepper accents that add sophisticated depth without overwhelming the palate’s delicate balance.
Distinctive Tasting Profile:
- Opening Notes: Cream, caramel, peanut butter, butterscotch
- Mid-Palate Development: Cedar, vanilla, milk chocolate, honey
- Finishing Impressions: Cinnamon, roasted nuts, gentle white pepper
Superior Construction Excellence
Sobremesa Brûlée cigars demonstrate **exceptional construction quality** featuring perfectly applied triple caps, razor-straight burn lines, and ideal draw resistance for optimal smoking pleasure. The **lustrous Ecuador Connecticut wrapper** exhibits minimal veining and displays a gorgeous golden patina with silky-smooth texture that feels luxurious to the touch.
Each cigar burns consistently and evenly, producing **substantial, firm ash** while generating the perfect volume of aromatic smoke for an immersive sensory experience. The masterful construction eliminates common smoking issues such as tunneling, harsh spots, or uneven burning, ensuring every smoker can fully appreciate the blend’s intended flavor complexity from first light to final draw.

This is a good one for the sweetness. I’m stoked to try the other two Sobremesa Brulee. I will be returning to this cigar again later, to compare it with the others.

If you want something on the milder sweet side I would recommend these. Takes about 1-1.5 hours to finish with a good draw and burn. Perfect for any time of the day.

I love Connecticut shade cigars so I was super excited to try this. This definitely did not disappoint as the flavors were spot on and front and center. There was cream, toasted almonds, cedar. Just a plethora of flavors. I know Dunbarton is known for their full flavor stuff but this was excellent. At light up it almost seemed like a sweetened cap, which I didn’t mind but it was really an enjoyable Connecticut. The draw on this was perfect as well as the burn. Construction was A+. Will look to add more to humidor as this is one of the best Connecticuts I’ve ever had. Another winner from DTT!

Sobremesa Brulee Toro, This is the best Connecticut Shade cigar I had along with the Sobremesa Brulee Blue. It is a very nice and smooth medium smoke for a casual moment. It has a bit of a vanilla and grass note o the finish. I am sure it would pair nicely with a cup of coffee.

It’s an interesting cigar. The sweetness on the tip makes you think it’s a sweetened tip but it isn’t. Overall it’s a good Connecticut shade cigar but it’s quite pricy. I would preferred Liga undercrown Connecticut over this and that was cheaper too.
