I had never had a Tatuaje before – many people rave about them, but they tend to be people who prefer bolder, stronger, pepper-forward cigars it seems and so I steered clear of the brand since those aren’t my thing really. I grabbed this box as it seemed to be a more nuanced blend, and… it was! Lots of spices in the flavour – I’d not call them baking spice per se, but more the distinct note of cinnamon with hickory spice emerging later in the burn. Body is medium, strength is medium. The retro (I don’t tend to do that often) was gentle and refined and complimented rather than detracting from the experience. There was rich tobacco, chocolate alternating with a dry (pleasantly dry) cocoa, and some cream. This was an earthy, coffee-esque cigar (something akin to a fairly traditional but well-roasted Colombian).
This is a very fine cigar with superb construction, no harsh notes, no brashness near the nub, and a rich-tasting experience. Four stars if only because – while very good – I did not really detect anything truly ‘unique’ in this blend (or at least nothing that stood out as a truly dominant part of the experience). Don’t get me wrong – these are very good. Bought a full box and glad I did – I would buy a box again.

I really dig these. Great construction and the flavor hits the perfect midpoint with me in spice and savoriness. Plenty of pepper, very distinctly Tatuaje, with nice nutty and greasy flavors to balance it out. I’m going through the box quicker than I intended!
