Beautiful box press and dark chocolate wrapper. I love the gritty mouth feel of a good broadleaf when you take the first initial puffs.
This cigar has milk chocolate, leather, and coffee in spades. Burn is a bit wonky but should correct itself with some age. Pete is called the king of broadleaf and this is another box worthy smoke from Tatuaje.

Anything blended by Pete with Connecticut broadleaf never misses in my book. The 2018 is an incredible smoke. Bold in flavor and strength. There’s a lot of pepper, and espresso upfront, but you also still get that broadleaf sweetness. If you take your time with this cigar, you will find a lot of nuanced flavors through out.

I’m fairly new to the cojonu line but I’m already a fan. This, along with the 2015 cojonu I’ve had are some of the boldest in tatuaje’s portfolio. Even though it’s bold, it’s got tons of flavor and isn’t a pepper bomb like some broadleaf cigars are. Can’t wait to explore the others in the line!

I loved the 2018 Cojunu in the habano, but Tatuaje and My Father do some of the best broadleaf in the business… So when these showed up on Oxford Cigar Co.’s site, I picked up a 5’er. I smoked a couple… then I returned to buy a box. They’re fantastic smokes! The Cojonu 2018 Broadleaf is a masterpiece that commands attention and admiration, unveiled at the prestigious 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show. With a medium-full body, it strikes a perfect balance, delivering strength without overwhelming the senses. From the first draw, its robust and punchy profile captivates, offering a symphony of flavors that dance harmoniously on the palate. Sweetness intertwines seamlessly with black pepper, while the rich essence of coffee lends depth and complexity. Hints of floral notes add a delicate touch, elevating the experience to new heights of satisfaction. Wrapped in a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, the Cojonu 2018 Broadleaf exudes elegance and sophistication, promising a journey filled with indulgence and refinement. The easy draw reveals layers of roasted nuts and wood, gradually evolving into a botanical paradise with notes of juniper, tarragon, and dried herbs. As the journey concludes, a subtle hint of hazelnut emerges on the finish, leaving a lasting impression of satisfaction and longing for more. In essence, the Tatuaje Cojonu 2018 Broadleaf is a testament to craftsmanship and artistry, inviting aficionados to savor every moment of its exquisite flavor profile.

Fantastic. Anytime I see something made by Pete Johnson I’m already intrigued, and if you add a Broadleaf wrapper it’s a no brainer buy for me. This one is pretty powerful, full strength, body, and flavor. Plenty of spice in the fillers that is balanced nicely by the wrapper. I would smoke this after a nice dinner, not a day starter for me, but such a great day ender.
