Villa Casdagli Corona Gorda is a fantastic medium bodied cigar. This vitola is a classic 5.6″x46 and boasts a reddish brown Ecuadorian wrapper over light and dark leaf fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Peru, and Ecuador. Pre-light draw has notes of raisin, caramel, and pecan. After lighting there was some concern it was going to burn too quickly due to the first few puffs behaving as though the cigar was rolled loosely, but it tightened up pleasantly. The roasted pecan notes are definitely dominant in the first third, almost like a pecan shortbread, but not overly sweet. There’s more cafe con leche and leather notes in the second third, with a creamy finish on the palate. The last third has some more organic notes of hay and there’s a woodiness like oak that remains between draws. I like the way Casdagli cigars transition in flavors as they are smoked. I would buy and smoke this one again.

As a brand that typically puts out more expensive cigars, I was excited to try something a little more affordable and this did not disappoint. I really liked this cigar. It burned nice and slow and was full of creamy, earthy goodness, matching up well against their more expensive lines.

Good value from casdagli. the profile is molasses sweetness, creaminess, citrus, oak, and nuts. Very balanced profile with good smoke production and excellent construction. I really like casdagli smokes. This line is the best value they have. another great change of pace from more standard nica or dominican profiles.

At the corona gorda or petite corona size this cigar packs a lot of punch and flavor, with a lot of complexity, I found the start to have a spicy but creamy body which transitioned into a more fuller body and more intense taste of roasted nuts.

Overall a balanced and complex smoke. Mid the cigar I was getting earthy black tea and a hint of molasses. The slight herbal and floral notes have picked up more right at the end giving this cigar an oddly sweet finish.

Pretty enjoyable cigar from beginning to end. Subtle notes of oak, black pepper, cocoa, and cherry. The Tobacco is coming from 4 different countries in the filler allowing for a fabulously complex smoking experience.
