After the Stauffenberg Cigars brand has been gaining more and more followers on social media for months and the requests for availability have been increasing day by day, the time has now come.
Numerous passionados and industry experts accepted the invitation of ‘Stauffenberg Cigars’ founder & owner Maik Neubauer to experience the premiere of this special cigar line, which was created as a tribute to Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg and other resistance fighters and their courage in the fight against the Nazi regime.
This special event took place in style in Stauffenbergstrasse, directly opposite the former Bendlerblock, where Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg once worked. The man who attempted to end the madness of the Second World War prematurely by assassinating Adolf Hitler on July 20, 1944.
The founder and owner of Stauffenberg Cigars first invited the participants to an exclusive guided tour of the German Resistance Memorial Center. This special exhibition is an impressive reminder of the various resistance groups, many of whom paid for their courage with their lives. The presentation of the personal lives and fates of the resistance fighters created an impressive setting for the subsequent presentation of the new premium cigar brand, before the launch event was kicked off directly opposite, in the huge cigar lounge of the JWMarriott Hotel.
The Stauffenberg Cigars brand was created to commemorate a significant historical event with a high-quality premium cigar product and to support lasting remembrance of the resistance during and especially at the end of the Second World War.
Stauffenberg Cigars relies on very high quality craftsmanship for its cigars and works exclusively with family-run manufacturers from Honduras for the first three editions that were presented in Berlin – for the cigars, the labels and the handmade wooden boxes.
Edition 1 – in the Pyramids 6 x 52 vitola – which will be launched on the German market in May, combines Criollo 98 tobaccos from various regions of Honduras in the filler, binder and wrapper. The Honduran puros are rolled in the traditional entubar style with up to 8 filler leaves.
The Stauffenberg Cigars Edition 2 – a Robusto 5 x 54, with a distinctive red annilla – is also currently being produced in Honduras and should be available in Germany at the end of June. The blend is identical to Edition 1.
Some participants at the launch event in Berlin were also able to taste the Stauffenberg Cigars Edition 3, a beautiful Toro 6 x 54, which is expected in the summer and features a Corojo wrapper.
According to Maik Neubauer, the founder and owner of Stauffenberg Cigars, there are even two more editions planned for this year. The participants in Berlin were given a first taste of another possible blend as part of a blind tasting “Project White”, with a sampler in Grand Corona format, which also met with great interest.
Edition 1 – Pyramids 6 x 52, will be available from selected specialist retailers and online stores in the German market in May.
The participants at the event were unanimous: ‘Stauffenberg Cigars’ is bringing new cigars onto the market that not only taste great, but are also a worthy tribute to an important part of history.
