New Washington Bill Would Create Highest Cigar Tax in the Nation

A new bill would increase the tax to 90 percent of the wholesale price for a cigar or 100 percent of the wholesale price for a flavored cigar. A hearing on the bill is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22.
