Baccarat The Game Cigars
Baccarat The Game stands as one of the most beloved everyday smokes in the United States, combining accessible pricing with premium construction and a signature sweetened cap that has attracted loyal fans since 1978. Handcrafted in the Jamastran Valley of Honduras at the Diadema Cigars de Honduras factory under Davidoff ownership, these cigars benefit from some of the most fertile tobacco growing soil in Central America and decades of manufacturing expertise.
The brand traces its lineage to a 19th century Cuban cigar bearing the same name, reportedly produced at the H. Upmann factory in Havana. When Carl Upmann cigars were rebranded in 1978, Baccarat emerged as its own identity. The line eventually moved under the Camacho umbrella and gained a devoted following through the cigar boom of the 1990s. Davidoff acquired Camacho in 2008, bringing Baccarat into one of the world’s most prestigious cigar portfolios while maintaining the blend’s accessible character and sweetened cap tradition.

Blend Composition and Manufacturing
The wrapper is a Honduran grown Connecticut Shade leaf cultivated in the Jamastran Valley, prized for its silky texture and golden brown color. This thin, delicate leaf burns evenly and contributes creamy notes to the overall profile. The Mexican Dulce binder adds a subtle sweetness that complements the signature cap treatment while providing the structural foundation for proper combustion.
Cuban seed Honduran Habano tobaccos fill the interior, grown in the mineral rich soils surrounding Danli. These long filler leaves undergo careful aging and fermentation before rolling, producing the smooth, mellow character Baccarat is known for. The Diadema Cigars de Honduras factory, built by Davidoff in 2015, houses skilled torcedores who craft each cigar by hand using techniques refined over generations.
Flavor Profile and Smoking Experience
The sweetened cap delivers immediate honey like sweetness upon first contact with the lips. Opening puffs reveal light wood and straw notes that transition into coffee, roasted nuts, and peanut shell characteristics. The core profile centers on smooth cedar with supporting notes of cocoa, nutmeg, and toasted bread. A creamy texture carries these flavors without harshness or bite.
As the cigar progresses, butter and cashew notes emerge alongside light black pepper on the retrohale. The strength remains mild through the first half before building toward medium intensity near the final third. The sweetened cap flavor fades gradually, allowing the natural tobacco character to take center stage. The finish is dry with lingering coffee and nut impressions that invite pairing with rich espresso or cream based cocktails.

What makes Baccarat The Game cigars unique?
The signature sweetened cap distinguishes Baccarat from other mild cigars. Torcedores apply a traditional gum technique when finishing the cap, coating it with a sugar based substance that provides gentle honey like sweetness with each puff. This technique dates to early 20th century premium cigar production.
Are Baccarat The Game cigars suitable for beginners?
Yes. The mild to medium strength, smooth flavor profile, and approachable sweetness make these cigars ideal for newcomers to premium tobacco. The consistent construction and easy draw provide a forgiving smoking experience while the quality satisfies experienced palates.
What flavors can I expect from Baccarat The Game cigars?
Core flavors include cedar, coffee, roasted nuts, peanut shells, and cocoa. The sweetened cap adds honey like sweetness that fades as the cigar progresses. Secondary notes of nutmeg, toasted bread, butter, and cashew appear throughout the smoking experience.
Where are Baccarat The Game cigars manufactured?
Handcrafted at the Diadema Cigars de Honduras factory in Danli, Honduras. Davidoff built this facility in 2015 as part of its Camacho operations. The factory sits in the Jamastran Valley, one of Honduras’s premier tobacco growing regions.
How does the sweetened cap technique work?
The torcedor applies a sweetened gum when finishing the cigar’s cap. This sugar based coating provides initial sweetness that enhances the tobacco’s natural creaminess without overpowering the underlying flavors. The sweetness gradually diminishes as you smoke.
What vitolas are available in the Baccarat The Game line?
The line offers multiple sizes including Rothschild (5 x 50), Luchadores (6 x 43), Toro (6 x 50), Churchill (7 x 48), and Double Corona (7½ x 50). Each vitola delivers the same blend in different smoking durations.
How should I store Baccarat The Game cigars?
Maintain 65 to 70 percent relative humidity and 65 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit in a properly seasoned humidor. The delicate Connecticut Shade wrapper and sweetened cap benefit from stable conditions to preserve texture and flavor.
What beverages pair well with Baccarat The Game cigars?
Rich espresso and dark roast coffee enhance the natural coffee notes in the blend. Cream based cocktails, light lagers, and sweet wines complement the mild profile and sweetened cap without overwhelming the subtle tobacco flavors.

If you’re thinking of saving a little money by occasionally adding a lower priced cigar to your normal rotation, you may want to consider Baccarat. It offers a mild profile of light wood and straw with nuts and sweet coffee on the retrohale. The tip is sweetened, also. The burn is good with a straight line and good smoke production. A very decent cigar for the price.

I didn’t have much for expectations on this but I was pleasantly surprised. It has a sweetened tip which I don’t mind and this smoked vey well. Totally getting those classic Connecticut flavors. Roasted nuts, peanut shell, hay and cedar. The finish on this is very creamy and smooth. In the second third I see light roast coffee and a very very faint cinnamon. The peanut flavor consists throughout the rest of the cigar. The construction on this was solid as it provided a good draw and smoke output. No touch ups needed. Was surprised how much I liked this especially at the incredible price offered here.

Sweet tipped but not overly sweet. Otherwise,
nothing to write home about. If you’re looking for a yard stick, or something to give to a new cigar smoker this would fit the bill.
