The foundation charter oak shade were one of the 1st cigars I tried and I keep coming back to them. Budget friendly, well constructed and great flavour and construction.

The Rothschild starts off very mild with a profile that includes nuts, light wood and a bit of pepper. This transitions into something with a bit more earthiness and a touch of leather. Nothing dramatic, but a good, mild cigar when you just want to unwind and zone out and not have to pay a lot of attention to what you’re smoking. The burn is near perfect with generous smoke. The fact that you can get all this in a $6 cigar is amazing.

It’s got all the characteristics of your typical connecticut: mild in strength, smooth, creamy texture, with a bready and nutty flavor profile. If your looking for something light and simple to pair with your morning cup of joe it’ll get the job done but if you’re looking for something more nuanced and with more complexity you’ll probably be disappointed. Regardless, for the price, it’s definitely worth trying.

Far from the best tasting shade cigar out there, but you get way more than you pay for with the charter oaks. The wrapper definitely has some bitterness to it, coupled with some of the spicy earthy notes of the fillers, so if you are hoping for the smooth creaminess of an Atabey or Davidoff, this isn’t the droid you were looking for. If you were expecting a 6 dollar cigar to be Atabey good you might want to change your medication. For the price, this is outstanding. A fine cigar for an every day smoke or to share with friends that you like, but not all that much.

A quality cigar under the $6 price mark is always a solid find. I’m not going to sit here and pretend that this thing is going to be winning awards anytime soon, and CT Shade is not for everyone, but this thing fills a niche purpose.
A good cigar, with mass appeal, at a decent price point. Load up for the boys!

This is a perfect cigar when you don’t have (Rothschild) too much time to enjoy. The flavor is spot on what you expect in a connie and construction is good. Tried this in other sizes and nothing but good smokin.

The Foundation Charter Oak Connecticut Rothschild cigar is an exceptional value-priced smoke that packs a flavorful punch in a small package. From the moment you light up, you’re greeted with a complex and well-balanced flavor profile that’s sure to impress.
The first notes that hit your palate are the saltine cracker and white pepper, which are perfectly balanced with the subtle hints of cedar that follow. The overall taste is creamy and smooth, with a slight sweetness that rounds out the experience.
But what really stands out about this cigar is the size. The Rothschild size is small, but it delivers a big smoke that lasts for a surprisingly long time. This makes it the perfect choice for those on-the-go or for those who prefer a shorter smoke.
The quality of the construction is also noteworthy. The cigar burns evenly and produces a satisfying amount of smoke with each draw. And while the price point may be budget-friendly, the quality of the cigar is anything but cheap.
Overall, the Foundation Charter Oak Connecticut Rothschild is a must-try for anyone looking for a value-priced smoke that doesn’t compromise on flavor or quality. 4-stars!

Absolutely delicious smoke! I love the Rothschild vitola as it gives me about 45-55 min when I don’t have a ton of time to smoke. The flavors are exceptional especially out of a $5-$6 smoke. I get warm dinner roll flavor, with cashews and cream. The draw on this specimen was perfect, draw spot on. I loved the addition of the closed foot to this so you get that blast of flavor right away. These will always be a staple in my rotation. Just an incredible value for these.
