This review is based on having had the Gold and Ruby so far – I have to say that La Aurora’s traditional perfecto shape is highly appealing for aesthetic reasons, but I’m pleased to say that the construction and flavour do not disappoint either. Featuring many different types of tobacco (depending on the blend), La Aurora provides someone looking for an ‘oldschool’ cigar format unique blends that aren’t really mimicked by anyone else – even the Gold (ostensibly a Dominican puro) is more avant garde and attention-getting than your typical Dominican cigar. The price on La Aurora is high (hence the single star deduction), but the uniqueness of what they provide is well worth picking some up – their presentation, whether in the sampler or full box, is also superb.
