Seleccion De Fabrica by Davidoff Maduro
Savor rich, approachable complexity with the Seleccion De Fabrica by Davidoff Maduro—a medium-to-full-bodied Dominican cigar featuring a dark, sweet Maduro wrapper and a carefully curated blend for everyday enjoyment. Designed under Davidoff’s Private Label Program, it delivers a budget-friendly introduction to the Maduro profile, balanced for both newcomers and seasoned aficionados.
- Maduro Dominican Wrapper: Deepens flavor with natural sweetness and a touch of earthiness—delivers cocoa and espresso notes in early draws
- Habano Binder & International Fillers: Robust Nicaraguan and Honduran filler blend adds complexity, dark fruit, pepper, and a subtle meaty undertone
- Medium-Full Profile: Bold at the outset with layers of chocolate, coffee, leather, wood, earth, and gentle spice—transitions to more earthy notes in the second half
- Versatile Vitolas: Available in Robusto, Toro, Torpedo, and Gordo—offered in singles, packs, and value-priced bundles of 10
- Solid Construction: Well-rolled for price point; draw and burn are reasonable with mostly long-filler appearance, though some reviewers suspect budget shortcuts
- Mixed Reviews: Some users appreciate it as a “yard gar” with chocolate notes, while others found bitterness or wanted more pronounced sweetness typical of richer Maduras—described as classic Dominican tobacco with earthy umami and a meaty, slightly woodsy finish
- Value-Oriented Choice: Well-priced for daily rotation or casual settings—not a premium Davidoff, but good for those seeking a mild, approachable Maduro at a fraction of the cost
This blend starts with pleasing cocoa and coffee notes, a light pepper, and an underlying earthy, woodsy foundation. As the flavor progresses, some find that the cocoa fades and earthiness intensifies—sometimes with a touch of bitterness, especially if smoked quickly or young. Smokers who prefer richer, more fermented broadleaf experiences may find it less intense but appreciate its low price point for casual use. Ultimate enjoyment comes when smoking slowly, pairing with coffee or stout, and treating it as an accessible, reliable Dominican-style Maduro.

It started off ok, some decent chocolate notes, underscored with earth and pepper. As I smoked further the chocolate faded and that earth got pretty bitter. It doesn’t appear to be short filled looking at the foot and ash, but for the price I wouldn’t be surprised if I was mistaken. Considering the orice it’s not a terrible yard gar, but there at better ones out there. I won’t order it again.

Not the typical Davidoff cigar for sure, however, I kind of like this Seleccion de Fabrica, for a simple reason, good relationship quality-price. They normally come a bit dry, nothing that a few weeks is my humidor won´t fix, after that, you gain a great smoke.

This cigar started out ok. Got some chocolate and leather. There was a touch of coffee from this as well. But just like the other two wrappers that I smoked in this line it unfortunately turned bitter on me. Don’t know if it’s an age or fermentation issue but they all seem to suffer from it. Nothing on this screams Davidoff to me. Price is decent but don’t think I’ll be buying this again.

It was ok, was expecting more chocolate or coco flavor from it which was very light and week. Mainly got the woody and pepper out of it. Very disappointed in this stick.

This cigar tasted like quintessential Dominican tobacco to me. The classic umami note (earthy, slightly woodsy and meaty smoke). There is nothing Maduro (fermented Broadleaf) in this cigar to me. I would say if you want good cheap Dominican tasting cigar (although it is not a Dominican puro) – this is your cigar.
