The Warped Cigars Black Honey 2023 Edition left me with mixed feelings, warranting a 3 out of 5 stars. While the flavors were commendable, featuring a noteworthy profile of sweet caramel and deep leather notes, and the cigar comes in a visually appealing torpedo shape that hinted at quality craftsmanship, the overall experience was marred by construction issues. Unfortunately, I found myself having to relight the cigar multiple times, disrupting the continuity of the smoking session.
Comparing it to previous releases of the Black Honey, the combustion of the 2023 Edition fell short of expectations. The inconsistency in burn not only affected the overall enjoyment but also highlighted a deviation from the standard set by its predecessors. Despite the setbacks, the cigar did manage to deliver good flavors, showcasing the potential that might have been overshadowed by construction challenges. For enthusiasts who prioritize flavor over flawless construction, the Black Honey 2023 Edition could still offer a satisfactory smoking experience, albeit with some compromises. I’m going to smoke another one I ordered, to see if it was a one-off situation, but at $22 retail, this is not a cigar I would recommend buying in quantity at this time.

I’ve had a lot of Warped and even had the privilege of trying the 2017 BH. This one does not disappoint and I can’t wait to see how they smoke in years to come.

We Miss The Old Black Honey – Warped, what’s going on? We’ve waited how long for the return of Black Honey and this is what you give us? It feels rushed and bland.

Ignite pepper and woody aroma. The front part has pepper, woody aroma, spice, a little bit of rouge and honey sweetness. The smoke is relatively dry, mainly pepper and woody aroma, and the taste is sweeter, mainly woody aroma and honey. The honey feeling is strengthened in the middle, the toasty feeling is a bit heavier, and the taste is a bit distorted from the classic taste of the good series. In addition to the previous taste, the tail part has a bit more tar. The strength of the whole cigar is average.
Overall, it is quite good to smoke. Unlike the twisted cigars with Krojo wrappers, the honey sweetness of Black Honey is very restrained, which may largely come from the mixed cigar core of the filler. This is quieter and softer than cigars like Donald’s 70th Anniversary. The honey and rouge feeling are not displayed nakedly, but are longer and more euphemistic. I think this is a manifestation of high-end taste. Compared with the unrestrained and straightforward Donald’s 70th Anniversary, the grace of Black Honey is more suitable for slow and careful tasting. Of course, everyone’s preferences are different, and I personally prefer a quiet and elegant style.

Don’t get me wrong, this could be an amazing cigar but I smoked 2 and both had a tight draw. Getting the flavors was sometimes impossible, but when you can get a nice puff, the cigar is great, with great complex flavors. I rated it 3 stars because for a $22 stick, I want excellent construction. The Colmena No44 is a much better cigar.

I was some honey sweetness but not to the same level as La Colmena No 44. The more prominent flavor notes were black pepper, cedar and cocoa which were nothing really exciting. I am sure with more age the cigar will be fire.

Good but not great, and for the price and size, it would have to be really great to get five stars from me. The construction was fine, not stellar, and the flavor profile followed suit. I got a lot of coffee and dark spicy tobacco, a little earth and black pepper, and that was about it. Not to say it was a bad cigar, but as I said for that price I won’t be chasing it.
