If it wasn’t for Kyle’s fathering igniting the passion for cigars in him at such a young age, we probably wouldn’t be here today.
The Story
Today Warped unveils the Don Reynaldo 70th, hand-crafted at El Titan de Bronze in Miami. Only 1,000 boxes of 10 of this 6.5 x 48 Belicoso were rolled for the milestone 70th birthday of Kyle’s father. This is a one-time production, never to be produced again. Each box is individually serial numbered on the bottom along with the name of the roller who crafted the cigar.

I’ve been a Warped fan for years, and have smoked my fair share of the Don Reynaldo in the past. The charming smaller corona and regalos sized cigars have been enjoyed on Sunday mornings with a coffee. The notes of cedar, farm hay, white pepper, and a bit of cream are a great start to the day. Flawless construction from El Titan de Bronze in Little Havana, in Miami has been the hallmark of this tribute to Kyle’s father. This year’s 70th Anniversary smoke takes the experience to the next level. This longer 6.5″ x 48 ring gauge belicoso is a beautiful smoke. The addition of the blue ‘Seleccion de Warped’ secondary band found on many of the limited release Warped cigars is a signal to fellow cigar enthusiasts that this is a must try. The Don Reynaldo blend flavors are present, but amped up. So much more cedar and soft leather notes, and even more of the heavy cream that lingers on the palate. There weren’t many of these cigars made (1,000 boxes of 10). This cigar commands the luxury price point, and is something special. Definitely one to try if you are looking for something to smoke and remember.

Any time Kyle releases a cigar with his father’s name on it just buy it, don’t hesitate, don’t wait, it will sell out, price doesn’t matter. Only the best get this moniker from one of the kings of boutique! Another winner Kyle, just keep on going and All of us who follow will continue to enjoy some of the best cigars being narrowly marketed today. Love it!!

Plenty of spice to start, black and red pepper with a mix of dense cinnamon and anise. There a light oak here, and some slightly sweet coffee. Halfway in the spice has grown a bit, and there is a bit of an herbal component added in. The retrohale gives me a little burnt toffee and brings the oak forward. Strength here is a 6, full flavor, medium full body. As I finish it up the strength goes up another notch, as does the red pepper. There’s a lot of complexity to this, as I got the last few inches salt and a red wine tannin flavor gets left on the finish. Not a cigar for beginners, but I’m enjoying it pretty well.
Beautiful construction. Aesthetically the cigar is gorgeous. The burn is razor sharp, perfect draw, and a burn of one hour fifty minutes.
It’s a fine cigar, no doubt, but the price is a little high for me to be reaching for it again. It was rolled at El Titan de Bronze which is always going to add some bucks to the cigar, but I think the flavors could have been a bit more refined for my palate.
