- Tasting notes include toasted wheat bread, almonds, cinnamon red hot candy, coffee, toasted cedar, and light roast coffee
- Packs in complexity reminiscent of much larger cigars
- Cigar aficionados praise its satisfying flavor and performance as a winter smoke or quick pick
- Construction holds up well even in the petite vitola—flavorful and reliable
- Best enjoyed when smoked slowly to maximize flavor development and avoid overheating
Reviewers highlight the El Oso Cub’s ability to deliver robust flavors: one describes notes of toasted wheat bread, almonds, cinnamon “red hot” candy, and coffee, while another finds toasted cedar, light roast coffee, and almond dominating in this surprisingly full-bodied “flavor bomb.” The smaller format means flavors come quick and strong, so it’s ideal for those who want maximum satisfaction in a shorter smoke—perfect for breaks, brisk weather, or as a flavorful cap to a busy day. While some wish for a bit more complexity and a lower price, most agree it’s a top pick for Warped fans and anyone loving big taste in a little package.

I’m always keen to try stuff that Kyle Gillis puts together and I also live in Wisconsin (which means I’m always on the lookout for great little winter smokes), so when I saw this little guy I had to grab one. The price is a little steep for what you get, I think, but it is a tasty cigar. Toasted wheat bread, almonds, cinnamon red hot candy, and coffee.
The problem with these little vitolas is that its hard to smoke them slowly so that they don’t overheat and affect the flavors, and its also very hard to get the ratios of different tobaccos right in such a small space. Smaller cigars I find to be pretty untraditional, as there is simply not enoug time for those transitions to develop. The flavor on this is satisfying enough, I just wish there was a little more gong on. Between that and the price I only went four stars on this one, but if you are a fan of Warped I suggest you give this little cub a try.

Great things come in small packages. This lives up to smoking like a much larger cigar, when you don’t have an hour + to burn. Lots of toasted cedar, light roast coffee and almond notes in this flavor bomb. Warped Oso cub is a bear of a stick!
