Dissident Cigars is releasing the Plasmatic, a tribute to Plasmatics vocalist and co-founder Wendy O. Williams. The 5 x 52 cigar ($12.50) features a Sumatra Connecticut wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and filler of tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
The Plasmatic will first be available to attendees of the PCA 2024 in Las Vegas March 22-25, and the remaining boxes will be available to stocking Dissident lounges nationwide after the close of the show.
The 20-count boxes feature a lyric from the 1982 Plasmatics song, “Path of Glory.”
“Wendy O. Williams is an icon of punk rock decadence and attitude who is known for going against social norms, her over-the-top on-stage antics, and for questioning authority,” Dissident co-owner Cynn Coburn said in a press release. “If that’s not living the life of a Dissident, we don’t know what is.”
Williams, who led the New York-based band that put out four studio albums in the 70s and 80s, died in 1998.
