Crowned Heads is releasing Coroneta, a new regular production brand, that derives its name from ‘coronet,’ a small or relatively simple crown.
Crowned Heads Coroneta takes in two different blends from two different factories, both under the Coroneta heading. Coroneta Habano is produced at Nicaraguan American Cigars, S.A. in Esteli, Nicaragua, while Coroneta Maduro is made at Casa Carrillo in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
Coroneta Habano features a Nicaraguan binder, and filler tobaccos from three regions of Nicaragua and is finished with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Coroneta Maduro features an Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Pennsylvania, and the Dominican Republic, and is completed with a dark San Andres Maduro wrapper.
They both come in a 5 x 52 Earl ($12.95), 5 ½ x 54 Duke ($13.95), and 6 x 56 Baron ($14.95).. They come in 20-count boxes and begin shipping in April.
“The concept of simultaneously introducing one brand in two expressions from two different houses is something entirely first-time for us,” Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber said in a press release. “I think the Coroneta brand achieves what we excel at, which is seamlessly blending tradition and history with premium modernity.”
